At the 2025 International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO 2025), which took place from July 10 to 20 in Queensland, Australia, Le Phan Duc Man, a 12th grader majoring in Mathematics 1 at Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted in Ho Chi Minh City, won a silver medal. Thanks to his efforts and passion for mathematics, he overcame all challenges.
Sharing with the press, Duc Man humbly said that this award is largely thanks to the efforts of teachers who have taught, believed in and always encouraged him from grade 10 until now.
"This is an unexpected joy, I want to thank my teachers, friends and family who have always been there to support me," Duc Man said.

Admitting that he is not the best and is still inferior to many other students, Duc Man said that because he loves math, he chose the path of perseverance and perseverance in studying to achieve the results he has today.
"In 10th grade, I wasn't good at math. I didn't win any prizes in the 30-4 Olympic exam that year, so I was a bit sad. But because I've liked math since middle school, I still felt happy studying. Thanks to that, I continued to research and learn to participate in school and city exams...", Duc Man said.
He did not set his goals too far to avoid disappointment. In 11th grade, Duc Man won 3 consecutive prizes: third prize in national excellent student math; gold medal in student math Olympiad; silver medal in traditional 30-4 Olympiad.
In grade 12, I won first prize in the city-level math competition and second prize at the national level. With that achievement, I was selected to compete in the International Math Olympiad, was the only contestant from the South and won a silver medal at the 66th competition.

With excellent academic achievements, Duc Man was admitted directly to the university of his dreams. In the future, he will work in the field of computer science .
Evaluating her students, Ms. Pham Thi Be Hien - principal of Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted - commented:

The 66th International Mathematical Olympiad took place from July 10 to 20 in Australia, bringing together more than 639 contestants from 113 delegations representing countries and territories.
The Vietnamese delegation ranked 9th with a total score of 188, surpassing 2024 (2 silver medals, 3 bronze medals and 1 certificate of merit), showing clear superiority.
