Uniting members, contributing to building model villages

Identifying the work of building the association as a core and continuous task, the Women's Union of Hoang Giang commune has directed to focus on innovating the content and methods of operation so that the association can truly be the second home of female members. Thereby, the branches have had good, effective, creative ways of doing things, close to the reality and the goals of socio-economic development in the locality.

Coming to Huu Khanh village, on the dike road there is a jade green fence, a project of the village women's association, built by the hands and labor of many sisters over many days. Initially, the sisters contributed funds to buy seeds, then propagated them to plant little by little. While planting, they took care of the green fence to spread the spirit of "beautifying" the homeland to other roads. On weekends, the sisters shared the care, trimming, watering, and cleaning up trash along the road... Seeing the spirit of the sisters' hard work, meaning, it has spread to many other roads in the village. Up to now, the entire association has built 4km of flower and green tree roads.

Along with that, the mutual love movement of the sisters in the association was promoted. The sisters helped each other with working days, shared production experiences, helped each other when the family had happy or sad events; raised funds to support each other in difficult times...

The Women's Union of Huu Khanh village has 115 members, including members working as workers in enterprises. In the emulation movements and campaigns, the union focuses on implementing the emulation movement "Building confident, self-respecting, aspiring women" and the campaign "Building a family of 5 no's, 3 clean's, contributing to fostering Vietnamese family values" associated with the union's key tasks with specific works and tasks. Every year, the union advises the village Party Committee on the projects planned to be implemented during the year. When the Party Committee agrees, the union carries out propaganda and mobilizes members and women in the area where the projects need to be implemented to know and grasp the policies of the Party Committee and the People's Committee of the commune to organize implementation. With that approach, the union has mobilized women to build a warm house for a single member in difficult circumstances; mobilized them to practice thrift following Uncle Ho's example to accumulate small things to make a big thing, to solve problems; The association's fundraising reached over 100 million VND (average 1 million VND/member) for 8 members to borrow. In particular, in the construction of a model new rural village, the association registered with the Party Committee to undertake the construction of a 1,500m long concrete road.

Talking about the road construction, the head of the Women's Union of Huu Khanh village, Luong Thi Nam, said: "The union mobilized women to contribute 100,000 VND and one working day each to build the road, level the ground, pour concrete foundation... During the 15 days of construction, hundreds of working days of women participated with other forces and socialized resources from children in the village, the road was completed solidly. To make the road more beautiful, the remaining funds after road construction were used to buy areca seeds, the union continued to mobilize women to spend working days planting areca trees on both sides of the road.

Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Ha Thi Thuy commune, said: "The highlight of Huu Khanh branch is the spirit of solidarity, promoting the internal strength of members and women. The branch has mobilized funds to carry out social security activities as well as maintain many meaningful models at the grassroots level. Thereby, women members are increasingly attached to the organization, actively participating in emulation movements; the role of the union in building a model new rural village is more clearly demonstrated. The branch has focused on innovating the content of activities associated with praising advanced examples, good people - good deeds to motivate and encourage the spirit of women".

According to research, in addition to undertaking projects and tasks, the Women's Union of Huu Khanh village also manages well the capital entrusted from the Social Policy Bank, credit savings capital, and considers lending to many member households for economic development. Not only that, in recent years, the union has updated the list of poor and near-poor women's households and assigned union members to help in many forms. The union has many members who are good at doing business with the model of growing and raising livestock. Up to now, 90% of member families have achieved the title of cultural family; 90% of members are classified as excellent and good. The "5 no 3 clean" club is active. Cultural and sports activities have developed, attracting many women to participate, creating a spreading influence in the union movement. With the achieved results, the union was proposed by the Provincial Women's Union to the Central Vietnam Women's Union to award a Certificate of Merit in 2025.
