Friendly meeting between former Vietnamese students and the delegation of the Ministry of Education of Belarus

On the afternoon of June 15, in Hanoi, the delegation of the Ministry ofEducation of Belarus had a friendly meeting with the Vietnam-Belarus Friendship Association and former Vietnamese students who studied in Belarus.

Attending the meeting, on the Vietnamese side were Ms. Nguyen Phuong Nga, President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations; Mr. Nguyen Tuan Phong, President of the Vietnam-Belarus Friendship Association; Mr. Nguyen Hai Thanh, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Education and Training .

On the Belarusian side, there were Minister of Education of Belarus Andrei I. Ivanets and Ambassador of Belarus to Vietnam Uladzimir Baravikou.

The event was also attended by many members of the Vietnam-Belarus Friendship Association and Vietnamese alumni who graduated from Belarusian universities.

At the meeting, Chairman of the Vietnam-Belarus Friendship Association Nguyen Tuan Phong expressed his joy at the visit and work with the Minister of Education of Belarus, hoping that the delegation's visit will bring about important new steps and new momentum in developing cooperation in the field of education between the two countries.

Recalling his days studying in Belarus, Mr. Phong emotionally shared: “I will never forget the help of the Belarusian people. We will never forget our beautiful and ambitious youth in Minsk, Mogilev, Vitebsk, Gorka and other cities of Belarus. I wish the good relationship between Vietnam and Belarus will continue to be strengthened and further developed.”

Belarusian Ambassador to Vietnam Uladzimir Baravikou said that Vietnam is one of Belarus's priority partners in Asia.

The Ambassador highly appreciated the role of foreign alumni in the cooperation between countries, affirming that they are representatives of public diplomacy and cultural bridges between countries. In recent years, educational cooperation between Belarus and Vietnam has achieved positive results, contributing positively to the development of multifaceted cooperation and friendship between the two countries.

The Ambassador affirmed: “Belarus is a hospitable country, and we look forward to seeing more Vietnamese students in Belarus. We will create opportunities and conditions for students to study conveniently, and at the same time feel comfortable and cozy like at home.”

Talking about the results of cooperation between universities of Vietnam and Belarus in implementing a number of projects on science, education... Belarusian Minister of Education Andrei I. Ivanets highly appreciated the active contributions of Vietnamese alumni to the development of friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.

Mr. Andrei I. Ivanets affirmed that he would create opportunities and favorable conditions for more Vietnamese students to study in Belarus. The Belarusian Minister of Education expressed his belief that Vietnamese students and alumni will continue to contribute to the development of friendship between the two countries, as well as the prosperity of each country.

On this occasion, the Minister awarded Certificates of Merit from the Belarusian Ministry of Education to former Vietnamese students who studied in Belarus. The Certificates of Merit are a commendation from the Belarusian Ministry of Education to outstanding former students.

At the meeting, delegates listened to the sharing of representatives of many research institutes and universities of Vietnam and Belarus about cooperation opportunities between the two sides in many fields in the coming time.

On behalf of the students who have studied and are studying in Belarus, Mr. Trinh Luong Quang, Director of the Vietnam-Russia Center, Binh Duong University, expressed his deep gratitude for the affection and help of the people and government of the former Soviet Union, and the people and government of Belarus today, for the cause of defending the country, as well as helping to train many generations of key officials for Vietnam.

In particular, Mr. Trinh Luong Quang and other former Vietnamese students sang the song “Goodbye Belarus” for the delegation, which they composed nearly 50 years ago when they left Belarus after many years of studying. All their feelings about the land and people of Belarus were conveyed through the song with the promise: “No, I will not leave Belarus forever, I will come back”.
