On the morning of October 14, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thinh - Deputy Director in charge of the Central Highlands General Hospital - confirmed that he had received information about the clip posted by the patient's family, questioning the qualifications and negligence of the doctor when caring for the traffic accident victim.
From CT results at private hospital, suspect doctor of negligence
Previously, on the afternoon of October 13, Mr. VQH (residing in Cu Jut district, Lam Dong province) posted a clip reflecting doubts about the diagnosis and treatment of his younger brother, VQĐ, by the Central Highlands General Hospital.
According to Mr. H., Mr. D. had a traffic accident and was taken to the emergency room at 5:48 a.m. on October 7 with multiple injuries to the head, jawbone, and right toe.
"The CT scan results were available at 7am, but at 9:30am my brother was still in the emergency room, not yet stitched or hospitalized. It was only after I made a fuss that his wound was treated and he was hospitalized," said Mr. H.

The doctor diagnosed Mr. D. with a head injury, loss of the distal part of the second toe of his right foot, crushed toes, and no signs of blood clots or traumatic brain injury in the head area.
After three days of treatment, the patient was discharged at 12:10 on October 10, although according to the victim's family, he was still drowsy, had a headache, and had temporary memory loss. The hospital did not provide a prescription or treatment instructions upon discharge.
Three days later, on October 13, the family took Mr. D. to a private hospital in Buon Ma Thuot ( Dak Lak ) for a re-examination. The CT scan results showed a fracture of the anterior wall of the right maxillary sinus, a sinus hematoma, small loose bone fragments next to the nasal bone, and swelling in the cheek and right eye.
Mr. Hai said these injuries were not recorded in the CT scan results of the Central Highlands General Hospital, so he returned to request clarification as to why the discharge form lacked information.
He asked the board of directors to consider the possibility that the doctor was negligent, causing his brother to become confused and have temporary amnesia.
Mr. H. said he is a KOL, director of a media unit, but filming and posting the clip was only to attract the attention of authorities to check medical records, not to attract views. "I do not confirm whether the CT scan results of the regional hospital are correct or not, this needs to be verified by the authorities," Mr. Hai said.
Only omission in printing results, no effect on treatment
Speaking with Tuoi Tre Online , Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Thinh said he watched the clip posted by the patient's family and understood the entire incident.
"Immediately after receiving the information, we reviewed the records and discovered a technical error in the discharge form, causing the information line about 'sinus hematoma' to not be displayed. This was a formatting error when printing the diagnostic results from the software onto paper, and did not affect the diagnostic content on the system," Dr. Thinh explained.

According to Mr. Thinh, after discovering the error, the hospital apologized to the patient's family and offered to reprint the complete form, but the family did not agree and still kept the old copy for their complaint. The doctors also asked Mr. H. to bring the patient back for a check-up, but he refused.
Regarding the suspicion of "missed diagnosis" or "misdiagnosis", the hospital leadership confirmed that this did not happen. "The patient was diagnosed and treated according to the correct protocol. When discharged on October 10, the patient was alert, able to talk, walk, and the wounds progressed well. The sinus hematoma is a small, closed injury that can dissolve on its own over time," said Mr. Thinh.
According to Dr. Thinh, during the treatment process, the hospital explained to the family about the progress of the injury, the direction of monitoring, and recommended bringing the patient back if there were any unusual signs. "There is no case where the doctor neglects or delays in treating the patient. We always prioritize emergency treatment for serious cases first, following the correct procedure," he added.
The Deputy Director in charge of the Central Highlands General Hospital said he had asked relevant departments and offices to provide detailed explanations and prepare reports to send to the Department of Health and relevant agencies to inspect and verify the incident.
"We will provide information to the press after the official conclusion. The technical error has been acknowledged and corrected, but it is unfair to misjudge the entire efforts of the medical team," Dr. Thinh emphasized.
