Generation Z is usually counted from the end of 1990 - 2012, popular from 1996 - 2010. It is predicted that by 2025, in Vietnam, on average, every 4 working people will have 1 representative of Gen Z. Compared to previous generations, this is a generation that is considered confident and has independent thinking from a very early age. Besides the bright spots of Gen Z such as being good at updating trends, good at technology, knowing many skills, daring to break through... many human resource managers also have a headache with the ability to communicate, behave, and change jobs according to trends of a part of Gen Z.

Recently, in a conversation, answering questions about Gen Z human resources, a manager commented that while a few young people are dynamic and grasp their work quickly and effectively, the majority of them are not serious and do not work hard. This manager joked: “In the past, when I went to work, I flattered my boss, but now that I am the boss, I flatter my subordinates. In addition to a job they love and a high income, Gen Z also requires a fun, unconstrained working environment.”
Another problem that employers are currently frustrated with and have a headache with Gen Z employees is that they are often bored with their jobs and tend to change jobs to follow trends. In many cases, if they feel a little uncomfortable with one of the many factors of the job, Gen Z is ready to ignore the whole thing and leave.
From another perspective, recruiters believe that Gen Z emphasizes “ego” and self-delusion. Commenting on Gen Z’s “ego”, Mr. V. - a human resource recruiter said: “I don’t judge anyone, but it’s really hard for me to recruit Gen Z to work for the company. They are often self-conscious, and when they make mistakes, they are lightly reminded but have a sour face and show an attitude.”
Faced with the job-hopping trend of Gen Z, many young HR managers with many years of experience suggest that companies and businesses need to be more flexible in terms of working hours and methods, which can help Gen Z see that the balance is met. Gen Z also needs to change their perception of work and be more serious about work.
