Domestic coffee price list updated on the morning of April 10, 2025 |
Experts say the global coffee market is under pressure from many factors, including the global trade situation and changes in US tariff policies. If the US imposes high tariffs on imported goods from Vietnam, this will greatly affect the competitiveness of Vietnamese coffee in the international market.
Based on current factors, experts predict that coffee prices may continue to decline in the near future if the global trade situation does not improve. However, if the supply situation continues to tighten and demand from major markets such as the US and Europe increases, coffee prices may recover.
Coffee traders said the reason for the coffee market plunge was due to concerns about the US imposing import tariffs on goods from Vietnam, including coffee. Although some exporters confirmed that green coffee beans would still enjoy a 0% tax rate, market developments showed that the fear had a strong impact on the sell-off.
Vietnam is currently the world's number one supplier of Robusta coffee, but the amount of coffee exported to the US market accounts for only about 5-6%. In the context of possible high export taxes, Vietnamese businesses will face many challenges in maintaining market share in this market.
Robusta coffee inventories have fallen to a three-week low of 4,291 lots, according to ICE. This has created a supply shortage, contributing to the rise in Robusta prices. However, concerns that consumers will cut back on coffee consumption as prices rise have dampened buying in the market.
