In Lam Dong province, coffee prices remained unchanged at VND123,700/kg.

Last week, the domestic coffee trading price fell to a three-month low of VND116,000/kg on April 9 due to concerns about US reciprocal taxes.
However, the market later recovered when Mr. Trump announced a 90-day suspension of the tax. Coffee prices accordingly increased by a total of VND7,000/kg over the last 3 days of the week.
However, in summary, last week, coffee prices in the Central Highlands region still decreased by nearly 2%. Specifically, coffee prices in Dak Lak and Dak Nong provinces decreased sharply by VND2,200/kg. World coffee prices today
Coffee prices on the world market also developed similarly, although recovering at the end of the week, trading prices still could not regain what was lost:
On the London Stock Exchange, the online price of robusta coffee for May 2025 delivery closed last week at $5,099/ton, down 0.3% ($13/ton) from the previous week; the July 2025 delivery contract fell 1.1% ($56/ton), reaching $5,049/ton.
On the New York Stock Exchange, the price of Arabica coffee for delivery in May 2025 decreased by 1.6% (5.7 US cents/pound) compared to last week, down to 360 US cents/pound; the July 2025 futures contract fluctuated more strongly, down 2.7% (9.7 US cents/pound), to 353.6 US cents/pound.
Mr. Phung Van Sam, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hanfimex Group - an enterprise specializing in exporting agricultural products, said that this coffee price reduction mainly comes from psychological factors, not from actual supply and demand. The US's 90-day tax suspension and the uniform 10% tax rate for all coffee exporting countries will not have a big impact, at least until Brazil enters its harvest season around July.
Not only Vietnam, but also global coffee production is declining due to the impact of climate change. In the country, in recent years, low coffee prices have caused many farmers to switch crops, switching to growing durian or other crops with higher economic value, leading to a continued decline in total coffee production.
This fact was confirmed by Mr. Thai Nhu Hiep, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vinh Hiep Company Limited. He said that in the previous crop, for the first time, the company's coffee inventory was only enough to sell until May 2024, while in previous years it always lasted until the new harvest, even remaining until October every year.
