At the invitation of President Luong Cuong, President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron and his wife will pay a State visit to Vietnam from May 25 to 27.

According to the announcement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron and his wife will pay a State visit to Vietnam.

The visit took place from May 25 to 27, at the invitation ofPresident of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Luong Cuong.

Vietnam and France established diplomatic relations on April 12, 1973, becoming Strategic Partners in 2013 and Comprehensive Strategic Partners in October 2024.

France is currently Vietnam's fifth largest European trading partner, after the Netherlands, Germany, the UK and Italy, with trade turnover in 2024 reaching 5.42 billion USD, an increase of 12.9% compared to 2023.

In terms of investment, France ranks 16th out of 147 countries and territories investing in Vietnam with 700 valid investment projects, total registered capital reaching 3.95 billion USD.
