At the meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Loi briefly reported on the socio -economic development of Binh Duong province; outstanding results in the relationship and cooperation between Vietnam - Japan in general and Binh Duong and Japan in particular in recent times.
Accordingly, Japan is the country providing the largest official development assistance (ODA) to Vietnam. In Binh Duong alone, JICA (the only agency implementing ODA aid of the Japanese Government ) has supported ODA capital to invest in completing two projects to improve the water environment in South Binh Duong, phase 1 and phase 2; solving the problem of drainage and domestic water treatment in two urban areas including Thu Dau Mot City and Thuan An City.
The Binh Duong Province Public Transport Infrastructure Improvement Project is currently being implemented with a total investment of over VND2 trillion; of which, over VND1,353 billion is ODA loan capital from Japan.
Currently, Japan ranks second among 65 countries and territories investing in Binh Duong with 365 projects, with a total capital of more than 6 billion USD. Binh Duong currently has a friendly cooperative relationship with Yamaguchi province and wishes to continue to establish a friendly cooperative relationship with Ishikawa province.
Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Van Loi said that to achieve such good results today, it is thanks to the great contributions of the Embassy, Consulate General of Japan and Japanese enterprises that always accompany the socio-economic development process of Binh Duong province.
He hopes that the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Vietnam, Mr. ITO Naoki, and his colleagues will be an important bridge to further develop the friendly and cooperative relationship between Binh Duong province and Japanese partners.
In particular, consider providing new generation ODA loans focusing on strategic infrastructure development projects such as: roads, railways, energy, digital transformation, climate change response, healthcare, renewable energy, green energy, human resource training in AI, new industries...
At the reception, Mr. ITO Naoki, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Vietnam, expressed his respect for President Ho Chi Minh on the occasion of the 135th anniversary of his birth; at the same time, expressed his joy at seeing the strategic and comprehensive partnership and cooperation for peace and prosperity in Asia and the world between Vietnam and Japan in recent times as well as the good cooperative relationship between Binh Duong and Japanese partners.
As Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Vietnam, he will pay attention and create favorable conditions for Japanese investors to come to explore investment opportunities in Binh Duong; there will be many friendly cooperation activities and cultural exchanges between localities of the two countries, including Binh Duong.
