Training on practical skills of the heritage art of Bai Choi in Thang Binh

The training course took place over 8 days (from May 20 to 28) with the participation of more than 90 students who are vocal teachers and primary and secondary school students of Thang Binh district.

Students were taught by artist Nguyen Van Quy (Hoi An City Center for Culture, Sports and Tourism) and musician Nguyen Tinh ( Quang Nam Opera and Drama Group) about the origin of the Central region's Bai Choi; methods of organizing and maintaining the activities of folk Bai Choi clubs and groups; and how to organize a Bai Choi festival in Quang Nam. Students also practiced playing instruments, singing and performing folk melodies, Ly, Ho, Ve, and calling for Bai Choi singing...

Ms. Vo Thi Thanh Van - Deputy Head of Cultural Management Department, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that from 2021 to present, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has organized 16 training classes on practicing the art heritage of Bai Choi in localities in the province, of which Thang Binh district has 3 classes.

This is one of the activities to preserve and promote the value of the intangible cultural heritage of the art of Bai Choi; at the same time, contributing to the development of Bai Choi clubs and groups to meet the cultural and artistic enjoyment needs of local people.
