When people agree

One of the outstanding achievements of Lien Chieu district in recent years is the consensus of the people in implementing key and dynamic projects and works. The district focuses on removing difficulties and obstacles, speeding up the progress of site clearance based on the principle of: putting the legitimate interests of the people first, enhancing dialogue and listening to the opinions of the people, focusing on resettlement work and support policies in the transition process, stabilizing the lives of the people... Up to now, the urban appearance of the district is increasingly spacious, the main roads are expanded; urban infrastructure has developed remarkably...

Ms. Ho Thi Kim Hoa (Hoa Hiep Bac ward) has a house on the road to Hai Van pass, next to the Lien Chieu port project and the port connecting road under construction. She said that the excitement of the construction site and the increasingly accelerated progress of the project have made her even more confident that giving up land for the project is a meaningful thing to do. "Although there are some difficulties with dust and noise, in return for development, I think it is the right thing to do," Ms. Hoa said.

Like many people affected by the implementation of projects in the area, Ms. Hoa's family was subject to site clearance for the project. She witnessed from beginning to end the officials regularly visiting residential areas to discuss with the people. It was these specific meetings, in line with their wishes, that made her family agree to resettle so that the project could have a clean site.

“Not only Lien Chieu people but also people from all over the world are looking towards Lien Chieu port. This is a great honor and everyone hopes that the project will soon be successful. We look forward to the day when trade routes are open, we can meet international friends, have more business opportunities, and improve our lives,” Ms. Hoa hopes.

Elderly people who had gone through difficult times in Van village are now also moved to witness the changes. Mr. Nguyen Van Xung (88 years old, group 9, Hoa Hiep Nam ward) shared: “In the past, children were uneducated, people had to climb mountains and suffer in many ways. After moving to the resettlement area, life has improved, children have a good education, and have medical care. Now hearing that the city is developing Lien Chieu port and a free trade zone, I am very happy. I just hope I am still healthy enough to see those projects take shape, to enjoy the benefits that will be brought to the people.”

Once living in Van village, now a resident of group 9, Hoa Hiep Nam ward, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thuan (71 years old) expressed: "I am happy that my children and grandchildren have the opportunity to study. If Van village develops into a tourist area in the future, I just hope that the city will allow our children and grandchildren to return to work in the place where they were born."

Meanwhile, Ms. Le Thi Tuyet (Hoa Minh ward) said: "Although my family is not affected by the projects, if we are subject to relocation and clearance, my family will completely agree to a new place to live for the common development of the city and Lien Chieu district...".

Not only those who have not been affected, but thousands of households in resettlement areas are also adapting to their new living environment and jobs. Along with the development of infrastructure such as Lien Chieu deep-water port, industrial parks or commercial centers, many people have been trained, introduced to jobs, and successfully changed their livelihoods.

The government always accompanies the people

According to Vice Chairman of Lien Chieu District People's Committee Huynh Anh Vu, in the district there are currently large projects that have been, are being and will be implemented such as the Lang Van Resort Complex Project, Nam O Eco-tourism Area in Hoa Hiep Nam Ward with an investment capital of thousands of billions of VND or the Mikazuki Spa & Hotel Resort project in Hoa Hiep Nam Ward with a total investment capital of more than 100 million USD.

In particular, the two projects of Lien Chieu port and the coastal road connecting the port are being accelerated to speed up construction progress to help synchronize infrastructure, promote calling for investors to invest in Lien Chieu port, especially when this area will be associated with a free trade zone, the first piloted in the country, contributing to the breakthrough growth of Da Nang's economy .

Up to now, Lien Chieu district has completed thousands of land clearance dossiers, ensuring the progress assigned by the City People's Committee when implementing key projects in the district. In 2025, the District Land Clearance Board strives to accelerate the land clearance progress, completing the land clearance of unfinished projects in the district, including 17 projects.

Specifically, focus on thoroughly handling and completing site clearance for key projects such as: Lang Van project, phase 1 to be completed in the first quarter of 2025, phase 2 to be completed in the second quarter of 2025, Hoa Khanh Nam Industrial Cluster project to be completed in the second quarter of 2025, Le Trong Tan Road project to be completed in the second quarter of 2025, Trung Nghia Primary School to be completed in the first quarter of 2025.

At the same time, the district focuses on completing legal documents, preparing to implement new projects such as: projects in free trade zones - dividing projects into sub-zones, Nguyen Sinh Sac extended road project, Western beltway 2... expected to implement site clearance work from the fourth quarter of 2025 and 2026.

With the motto of "leaving no one behind", the locality actively implements social security policies such as: organizing consultation conferences, introducing jobs, vocational training for policy beneficiaries, young people completing military service, sending workers to work abroad...

Hundreds of households were supported with preferential loans, health insurance cards, livelihoods, and home repairs, thereby helping people gradually stabilize their lives in the new urban landscape. The Lien Chieu District Government has always been persistent in its policy of openness, transparency, and frank dialogue with the people throughout the implementation process.

People's questions and suggestions are listened to and resolved promptly, creating trust and consensus in the community. Not only stopping at arranging new housing, the district also accompanies people on the journey to stabilize their lives for the long term. From supporting rent while waiting for land allocation, to opening vocational training classes, supporting means of livelihood, connecting and introducing jobs... all aim to help people truly "settle down and have a happy life".

In the 2023-2024 period, a series of social security policies will be widely implemented in the area, especially in resettlement areas with a total mobilized resource of up to tens of billions of VND... In the future orientation, Lien Chieu district is continuing to accelerate the progress of urban development projects, in which site clearance is always associated with the goal of ensuring social security for the people. This is not only a technical requirement but also a strategy for developing a humane and modern Lien Chieu urban area.
