The recent decline in coffee prices is seen as a result of many factors at the same time. The biggest pressure comes from the abundant supply of Brazil. The sharp increase in coffee production from this country has put pressure on prices, preventing the market from recovering as expected.
Although heavy rains in Dak Lak are slowing down the harvest, this is not enough to reverse the trend as both Vietnam and Brazil are forecast to increase production. This reinforces the possibility of a clear oversupply, causing the market to react cautiously and prices to continue to fall.
In addition to supply, concerns about a global economic recession have also put demand for coffee in question. When the economic outlook is less positive, buyers tend to slow down imports, thereby putting pressure on coffee prices in both the futures and physical markets.
The prolonged decline is causing great concern for farmers, as profit margins are narrowing while costs for materials, labor, and transportation are rising. If prices continue to fall, many coffee growers may face difficulties in the coming crop.
World coffee prices today
Coffee prices on the world market fell sharply on two floors:
Robusta Coffee (London):
Delivery in January 2026: Down 57 USD/ton, to 4,449 USD/ton.
Delivery in March 2026: Down 44 USD/ton, to 4,309 USD/ton.

March 2026 delivery: Up 0.5 cent/lb, to 369.95 cent/lb.
This week, coffee prices on the exchanges are expected to fluctuate unpredictably due to the Thanksgiving holiday in Western countries. Many exchanges will be closed on Thursday and some investors will also take a break, causing a significant decrease in trading volume and a less active market.
In terms of quality, Vietnamese Arabica coffee has recently attracted international attention as its quality has improved significantly while its price is still lower than that of global Arabica. This trend helps Vietnamese products increase their competitiveness in many major markets.
According to the Customs Department, in the first 10 months of 2025, Vietnam exported 35,200 tons of coffee to South Korea, reaching 176.2 million USD, up 6.5% in volume and 47.3% in value compared to the same period in 2024. The main product lines include robusta, arabica and processed coffee.
Arabica alone recorded outstanding growth when exports by the end of September reached 2,237 tons, worth 15.545 million USD, up 127% in volume and 275% in value. Vietnam continued to hold the position of second largest coffee supplier to Korea with 19% market share, second only to Brazil.
