Impersonating social insurance employees to steal information of social insurance and health insurance participants

(HGO) - Recently, Hau Giang Provincial Social Insurance (HSI) has received feedback from people about some subjects calling to request updating citizen identification cards (CCCD), email addresses, ... synchronizing data into VssID - Social Insurance number due to incorrect information; at the same time, asking people to make friends with Zalo on the phone to guide the adjustment.

Specifically, the subject called and introduced himself as working at Hau Giang Social Insurance, asking people to bring their ID cards to the Social Insurance agency to correct their social insurance information (the subject provided an incorrect address of the Social Insurance agency, wrong address or requested to contact by phone) or update the ID cards into the application by accessing a strange link ending in ".govvvn.com" on the mobile phone and following the instructions.

In addition, the subject also asked people to make friends on Zalo to guide them in adjusting their information, with the aim of exploiting users' personal information. After that, the subject asked them to enter any phone number and password.

Hau Giang Provincial Social Insurance recommends that people and workers raise their vigilance: Do not make friends on Zalo, do not click on strange links or provide OTP codes, personal passwords, facial recognition, etc. to strangers to avoid being taken advantage of by scammers.

Hau Giang Provincial Social Insurance currently does not have a policy of calling or texting people and workers to update information on the "VssID application - Social Insurance number".
When people and workers need to install the "VssID application - Social Insurance number", please go to App Store or Google Play on your mobile device, do not install using strange links.

It is recommended that units, employees, and people, when needing support, advice, and resolution of records, procedures, and policies on social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance, should contact the social insurance agency directly or via the official electronic information portal, zalo, fanpage, switchboard number, etc. of the Vietnam Social Insurance industry.
