Northern live pig price today June 17, 2025

In the North, pig prices did not record any new fluctuations compared to the previous day, remaining stable in all localities.

Specifically, the price of pigs in the provinces of Bac Giang, Hung Yen, Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Thai Binh, Vinh Phuc, Hanoi and Tuyen Quang continues to be purchased at 69,000 VND/kg.

Meanwhile, Yen Bai, Lao Cai, Nam Dinh, Ha Nam and Ninh Binh still maintain the price at 68,000 VND/kg.

Currently, the price of live pigs in the North continues to remain stable at around 68,000 - 69,000 VND/kg.

Pig price in Central Highlands today June 17, 2025

In the Central and Central Highlands regions, pig prices did not record any new fluctuations compared to the previous day, remaining stable in most localities.

Specifically, the price of pigs in Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Binh, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh and Khanh Hoa provinces was purchased at 69,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri and Hue maintained the price at 68,000 VND/kg. In the Central Highlands, Dak Lak recorded a price of 70,000 VND/kg, while Lam Dong reached a higher level of 73,000 VND/kg. Coastal provinces such as Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan had prices of 72,000 VND/kg and 73,000 VND/kg, respectively.

Currently, the price of live pigs in the Central and Central Highlands regions continues to remain stable at around 68,000 - 73,000 VND/kg, with Lam Dong and Binh Thuan being the two localities with the highest prices in the region.

In the South, pig prices remained largely stable compared to the previous day, with only a few localities recording a slight decrease.

Specifically, pork prices in Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Ca Mau provinces reached the highest level in the region at 74,000 VND/kg. Localities such as Binh Phuoc, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, Vinh Long, Can Tho, Hau Giang, Tien Giang and Soc Trang were purchased at 73,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, Long An, An Giang, Kien Giang and Tra Vinh recorded prices of 72,000 VND/kg, while Dong Thap was lower at 71,000 VND/kg. Ben Tre currently has the lowest price in the region, reaching 70,000 VND/kg.

Some provinces recorded price decreases, including Dong Thap, Kien Giang, Bac Lieu and Tra Vinh down 1,000 VND/kg, while Ben Tre dropped sharply by 2,000 VND/kg.

Currently, the price of live pigs in the South fluctuates between 70,000 - 74,000 VND/kg, with the main trend being stable.

Latest pig price news

According to the Agriculture and Environment Newspaper, the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of Dak Lak province said that since the beginning of 2025, the province's livestock industry has maintained significant stability. Currently, the total herd of buffaloes and cows in the province is about 290,800; the herd of pigs is 1,150,000; the herd of goats is about 133,000 and the poultry herd is up to 17,200,000.

Regarding animal disease, since the beginning of 2025, Dak Lak province has recorded cases of rabies and African swine fever, but the outbreaks have been controlled promptly. Regarding rabies, the province has detected 7 dogs infected with the disease in localities such as Cu Kuin, Cu M'gar, Krong Nang, Lak and Buon Ma Thuot City. In total, 11 dogs have died or been destroyed due to infection or suspected infection with rabies.

Dak Lak Province Center for Disease Control reported that since the beginning of the year, the province has recorded 2 human deaths due to rabies, including 1 case in Ea Pil commune (M'Drak district) and 1 case in Bang Adrenh commune (Krong Ana district).

To strengthen rabies prevention and control, the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of Dak Lak province requires localities to seriously implement Directive No. 05/CT-UBND dated March 5, 2024 of the Provincial People's Committee, focusing on urgent measures such as promoting rabies vaccination for dogs and cats, ensuring a rate of at least 80% of the total herd.

Regarding African swine fever, since the beginning of 2025, the disease has appeared in 5 households in 3 villages in Cu M'gar district and Buon Ma Thuot city, causing 56 pigs to die or be destroyed with a total weight of 3,725 kg. Notably, in May 2025, the province did not record any new outbreaks.
