Latest pig price news
The price of live pigs today, June 7, 2025, in Quang Binh was recorded at 69,000 VND/kg, unchanged from previous sessions, reflecting the slowing trend of the market in the Central region. The price level in Quang Binh is similar to neighboring provinces such as Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Hue, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai and Khanh Hoa, all reaching 69,000 VND/kg, while Ha Tinh and Quang Tri are lower at 68,000 VND/kg. No price fluctuations were recorded, showing the balance between supply and demand.
However, the livestock industry in Quang Binh is facing challenges from African swine fever, which broke out from May 15-29 in Thuong Hoa commune, Minh Hoa district, causing losses of 2,426 kg of pigs. The main causes come from small-scale livestock farming models, lack of biosecurity measures, use of breeds of unknown origin and untreated feed. Changing weather and low vaccination rates further increase the risk of disease spread.
Experts say that although the supply of live pigs is stable thanks to large farms, household farming (accounting for more than 75% of the total herd of 250,136 pigs) has the potential risk of disease, which can affect the price of live pigs if not well controlled.
