Reasons for the increase in pork prices

- Year-end demand: Near Lunar New Year, pork consumption increases sharply, especially in large cities and the Northern region. Food production units step up purchasing raw materials for ham and other processed products.

- Reduced supply: Due to concerns about disease and high input costs, many farmers have reduced their herd size, causing market supply to not meet demand.

- High input costs: Prices of animal feed, transportation and other services increase, pushing up product prices.
