On the morning of November 19, despite the harsh weather conditions with heavy rain and rising floodwaters, dozens of officers and soldiers of the Assault Team of the Defense Command of Region 6 - An Nhon Dong were mobilized to key points in Tuy Phuoc commune to respond to the flood.
Here, forces focused on building streams and reinforcing embankments using sandbags to create temporary dikes to block floods, divert water flow, and prevent floodwater from rivers and streams from overflowing onto roads and cutting off vital routes. This solution aims to protect the property and lives of people in high-risk areas.
Previously, on the night of November 18, the Luat Le River dike in Tuy Phuoc commune (old Dieu Tri town) broke, causing water to flood into low-lying areas, severely affecting people living along the Ha Thanh River in Tuy Phuoc commune and Quy Nhon Bac and Quy Nhon Dong wards.

This morning, in Quy Nhon Bac ward, Brigade 573 of Military Region 5 mobilized forces and vehicles to support people affected by floods. Here, the working group approached isolated households and organized the movement of people and property to safe areas.
Lieutenant Colonel Truong The Huan, Deputy Brigade Commander of Brigade 573, said: "The unit has fully prepared rescue equipment and supplies such as life jackets, rescue ropes, food supplies, etc. At the same time, we maintain the number of on-duty personnel and part-time forces ready to mobilize and handle emergency situations when ordered."
Rescue work and support for people will be maintained by armed forces in Gia Lai 24/7 until the flood situation is controlled, ensuring maximum safety for the lives and property of local people.
