Domestic rice prices slightly decreased

Rice prices in the Mekong Delta today, August 5, 2025, slightly decreased by 50 VND/kg for some types of raw rice for export. Trading transactions were slow, the market fluctuated little. OM 5451 rice fluctuated at 9,500 - 9,650 VND/kg, IR 504 rice at 8,500 - 8,600 VND/kg, CL 555 rice at 9,000 - 9,100 VND/kg, OM 380 rice at 8,150 - 8,250 VND/kg, OM 18 rice at 9,600 - 9,700 VND/kg.

Stable rice prices

Rice prices in An Giang remained stable. IR 50404 rice (fresh) was 5,700 - 5,900 VND/kg, Nang Hoa 9 and Dai Thom 8 rice were 6,000 - 6,200 VND/kg, OM 18 and OM 5451 rice were 5,900 - 6,200 VND/kg, OM 308 rice was 5,700 - 5,900 VND/kg. Transactions in provinces such as Soc Trang , Hau Giang, Ca Mau, and Dong Thap were slow, rice prices remained unchanged.

Mitigation by-products

The price of OM 5451 fragrant rice bran decreased by 100 VND/kg, to 7,400 - 7,500 VND/kg. The price of bran is 8,000 - 9,000 VND/kg, the price of rice husk is stable at 1,000 - 1,150 VND/kg.

Retail rice prices remain unchanged

At retail markets, rice prices are stable. Nang Nhen rice is 28,000 VND/kg, Huong Lai rice is 22,000 VND/kg, regular rice is 13,000 - 14,000 VND/kg, Thai and Taiwanese fragrant rice is 20,000 - 22,000 VND/kg, Jasmine rice is 16,000 - 18,000 VND/kg, regular Soc rice is 16,000 - 17,000 VND/kg, Japanese rice is 22,000 VND/kg.

Export rice prices remain stable

Vietnam's rice export prices are stable, with 5% broken rice at 382 USD/ton, 25% broken rice at 358 USD/ton, 100% broken rice at 325 USD/ton, leading major exporting countries such as India (377 USD/ton), Pakistan (376 USD/ton), Thailand (375 USD/ton). The Philippines plans to import 4.37 million tons of rice due to domestic production shortage.
