The play exploits the legendary story of Little Cua Suot, a fairy who loved the scenery of Ha Long so much that she gave up her comfortable life in the Upper World to reincarnate as the daughter of Duc Ong Tran Quoc Tang, the grandson of Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan. After the third Yuan-Mongol war ended, the fishermen around the area no longer saw the young general, the female general and the heroic young boy going to and from Cap Tien wharf to get water. When they heard the news of the general and the young boy's death, to commemorate their merits in saving the people and helping the country, the fishermen set up an incense burner to worship them. Because they did not know their names, they only prayed to the great mandarin Chanh Lanh Binh, Little Cua Suot, and Little Cua Dong for ease of remembering.
Through the play, the Quang Ninh Provincial Art Troupe wants to recreate a legendary character in the art form of Cheo, exploiting the elements of folk mythology, legends, customs and practices of the fishermen in Cua Suot, creating an attractive atmosphere. At the same time, the work aims to preserve traditional culture, praise the beauty of the soul, indomitability, and strong will as the crystallization of love for the homeland, of the desire to fly, the desire for peace , prosperity, and happiness for all time.
Through their works, the artists want to send their love and pride for the land and people of Quang Ninh , the land of the Fatherland, a place of golden forests and silver seas, a sacred land and talented people; to be grateful and remember the contributions of previous generations who sacrificed their blood and bones to bring peace and happiness for future generations.
According to the plan, the Quang Ninh troupe will practice the play from now until mid-October 2025 and leave for the national Cheo festival in Bac Ninh at the end of October 2025.
