In the Central Highlands region, domestic coffee prices on the morning of November 21, 2025 decreased sharply, fluctuating between 112,500 - 113,500 VND/kg. Particularly in Lam Dong , the areas of Di Linh, Bao Loc and Lam Ha all decreased sharply by 1,200 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently trading at 112,500 VND/kg.
In Dak Lak, the coffee purchase price in Cu M'gar decreased by 1,200 VND/kg, down to 113,500 VND/kg, while Ea H'leo and Buon Ho both maintained the level of 113,400 VND/kg. In Dak Nong , traders in Gia Nghia and Dak R'lap simultaneously decreased by 1,300 VND/kg compared to yesterday, reaching 113,500 and 113,400 VND/kg respectively.
Trading prices in Gia Lai also decreased by VND1,200/kg, with Chu Prong at VND113,000/kg, while Pleiku and La Grai maintained at VND112,900/kg.
Floods in key coffee-harvesting areas in Vietnam continue to be a factor causing unusual price increases.
According to a report from the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention, the total rainfall in three days (from 7 p.m. on November 16 to 7 a.m. on November 20) in Gia Lai, Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa reached 600 - 800 mm, seriously affecting more than 13,000 hectares of crops, nearly 2,100 hectares of perennial trees, 88 hectares of aquaculture and more than 30,700 livestock and poultry were damaged.
The Vietnam Industry and Trade Information Center (VITIC) said, “The coffee harvest season should have been bustling, but the prolonged rains have made the atmosphere gloomy.” The wet weather has prevented many households from harvesting on time, causing progress in the Central Highlands to stagnate.
Robusta's rise contributed to the rise in coffee prices on the New York floor, but Arabica only inched up due to rains in growing areas of Brazil.
Currently, supply and demand factors still play a major role in influencing coffee prices as global inventories remain low, while adverse weather in major producing countries continues to put pressure on supply.
Pepper prices remain stable
Domestic pepper prices on the morning of November 21, 2025 remained unchanged, fluctuating between 145,000 - 146,500 VND/kg. Specifically, Dak Lak pepper was purchased at 146,500 VND/kg, unchanged from yesterday; Chu Se pepper (Gia Lai) was at 145,000 VND/kg, unchanged; Dak Nong also recorded 146,500 VND/kg.
In the Southeast region, pepper in Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Binh Phuoc remained stable at 145,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
According to the International Pepper Community (IPC), the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper reached 7,099 USD/ton, while Muntok white pepper touched 9,666 USD/ton in the most recent session.
The price of Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper was recorded at 6,175 USD/ton. Meanwhile, Malaysian ASTA black pepper remained stable at 9,200 USD/ton, while the country's ASTA white pepper reached 12,300 USD/ton.
In Vietnam, the price of 500g/l black pepper is currently trading at 6,400 USD/ton, 550g/l is 6,600 USD/ton; the price of white pepper remains at 9,050 USD/ton.
In the first 15 days of November 2025, Vietnam exported 8,244 tons of pepper with a total value of 52.6 million USD, according to the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA). Simexco Dak Lak continued to lead in output with 786 tons, followed by Olam with 716 tons, Haprosimex JSC with 623 tons, Phuc Sinh with 605 tons and Nedspice Vietnam with 488 tons. The US market consumed 1,888 tons, the UAE reached 1,480 tons, while China recorded 495 tons.
Compared to the first 16 days of October 2025, exports to the US remained stable, while the UAE and China showed clear signs of recovery. This trend contributed to maintaining positive growth momentum for pepper exports in the context of adverse weather affecting global supply.
From the beginning of the year to mid-November, Vietnam's pepper export turnover reached 1.45 billion USD, surpassing 1.3 billion USD for the whole year of 2024, marking an important step forward for the industry in conditions where output was affected by drought and unseasonal rain.
In contrast, Vietnam imported 804 tons of pepper in the first half of November with a value of 5.1 million USD. Of which, Haprosimex JSC and Vietnam Spices Company each imported 112 tons, mainly from Cambodia (434 tons) and Brazil (224 tons). The increase in imports reflects the need to supplement domestic supply to compensate for the production shortage caused by prolonged weather effects.
