Domestic pepper price on September 16, 2024
Specifically, Dak Lak pepper price was purchased at 156,000 VND/kg, stable compared to yesterday. Chu Se pepper price (Gia Lai) was purchased at 153,000 VND/kg, stable compared to yesterday. Dak Nong pepper price today was recorded at 156,000 VND/kg.
In the Southeast region, pepper prices today are stable compared to yesterday. Specifically, in Ba Ria - Vung Tau, it is currently at 155,000 VND/kg; in Binh Phuoc, pepper prices today are at 152,000 VND/kg.

This week, domestic pepper prices increased by about 2,000 to 3,000 VND per kg. In Binh Phuoc alone, pepper prices remained unchanged at 152,000 VND per kg.
Compared to the beginning of the month, pepper prices have increased by VND10,000/kg in most provinces, but in Binh Phuoc, they have only increased by VND7,000/kg. Experts say that this price increase is due to increased demand from the Chinese and Middle Eastern markets.
The decline of the USD, due to expectations that the Fed will cut interest rates, also contributed to supporting the increase in commodity prices in general and pepper in particular.
World pepper price today
Update on world pepper prices from the International Pepper Community (IPC), at the end of the most recent trading session, IPC listed the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper at 7,562 USD/ton (up 0.04%), and the price of Muntok white pepper at 9,121 USD/ton (up 0.04%).
Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper price is at USD 7,400/ton. Malaysian ASTA black pepper price remains stable at USD 8,800/ton; ASTA white pepper price of this country reaches USD 10,900/ton.
Vietnamese black pepper prices today are stable at a high level, trading at 6,800 USD/ton for 500 g/l; 550 g/l at 7,100 USD/ton; white pepper prices at 10,150 USD/ton.
By the end of August, Vietnam had exported 183,756 tons of pepper, earning 881.2 million USD. Although the export volume decreased by 2.1%, the export value increased by 43% compared to the previous year.
Major companies such as Olam Vietnam and Phuc Sinh recorded strong growth of 50.6% and 61.7% respectively. Some other companies also had remarkable growth, such as Simexco Dak Lak up 215.1% and Sinh Loc Phat up 124.2%.
However, inventories from 2023 and imports in 2024 are estimated at 40,000 - 45,000 tons, and it is forecasted that exports from August to the end of the year will be lower than previous years. It is expected that by March 2025, when the new crop season begins, exports will increase again.
