World gold price today June 5, 2025 and world gold price fluctuation chart in the past 24 hours
According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 4:30 p.m. on June 5, Vietnam time, was 3,378.57 USD/ounce. Today's gold price increased by 17.1 USD/ounce compared to yesterday. Converted according to the USD exchange rate at Vietcombank (26,244 VND/USD), the world gold price is about 110.88 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is 6.82 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.
World gold prices rose slightly as investors continue to assess weaker-than-expected US economic data and global economic and political uncertainties. Meanwhile, all attention is on the US employment report to be released tomorrow for further clues on the market outlook.
Specifically, spot gold prices increased slightly by 0.5% to $3,378.57/ounce. US gold futures prices decreased by 0.3% to $3,388.90/ounce.
According to Soni Kumari, an expert at ANZ Bank, small fluctuations in the short term are not enough to change the trend of gold prices, because gold is still maintaining relatively good stability. A notable factor is that the US Federal Reserve (Fed) has recorded a slowdown in economic activity, largely due to high costs and prices after the import tax was raised recently.
In addition, the US service sector contracted for the first time in nearly a year. The ADP employment report also showed that the private sector added the fewest jobs in more than two years, raising concerns about a slowdown in the labor market.
US President Donald Trump continued to make harsh statements, saying that Chinese President Xi Jinping is “extremely difficult to deal with.” Mr. Trump also called on Fed Chairman Jerome Powell to cut interest rates soon to support the economy.
Also this week, a doubling of tariffs on steel and aluminum imports officially took effect in the US. The Trump administration is seeking to force trading partners to make “best offers” if they want to avoid a new wave of tariffs that could come in July.
Matt Simpson, an expert at City Index, said that gold prices are currently in a “situation” situation, largely influenced by Trump’s trade policy statements. Although gold is still supported by safe-haven sentiment, prices lack the momentum to break new highs this week.
Apart from gold, spot silver fell 1.4% to $34.47 an ounce. Platinum rose 0.4% to $1,089.41 an ounce, while palladium fell 0.4% to $997.19 an ounce.
