World gold price today 5/4/2025 and world gold price fluctuation chart in the past 24 hours
According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 4:30 a.m. today, Vietnam time, was 3,239.27 USD/ounce. Today's gold price decreased by 0.34% compared to yesterday. Converted according to the USD exchange rate on the free market (26,430 VND/USD), the world gold price is about 103.2 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is 18.1 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.
World gold price developments in the past 24 hours.
World gold prices ended the week down 2.27% from the previous week, marking the second consecutive week of decline. In the final trading session of the week, the June gold futures contract closed at $3,247.40/ounce, down just $0.9, or 0.03%. Previously, gold prices had fallen for three consecutive sessions with a total decline of more than $106.
The downward pressure on gold prices this week mainly came from global investor sentiment shifting towards risky assets, which was boosted by positive signals from trade relations between the US and China.
“Gold prices are likely to hit $3,500 an ounce in the short term, especially as trade talks appear to be moving in a positive direction,” said Daniel Pavilonis, chief market strategist at RJO Futures. “Risk sentiment is back in the markets.”
New data showed nonfarm payrolls rose by 177,000 in the latest month, compared with a Reuters poll forecast of 130,000.
However, according to experts, it is still too early to confirm the impact of US President Donald Trump's tariff policy on the labor market.
After the latest report on the US labor market, expectations that the FED will lower interest rates as early as June are increasing.
Recent forecasts suggest that confidence in gold’s bullish outlook remains strong. In a survey of 29 traders and analysts, the average gold price forecast for 2025 was raised to $3,065 an ounce, up from $2,756 three months ago. The forecast for 2026 was also raised to $3,000 an ounce.
