Gold price on June 26: SJC gold bars listed at 119.5 million VND/tael

(Dan Tri) - The price of SJC gold bars and plain gold rings remained unchanged compared to the previous trading session. The world price of precious metals increased by more than 17 USD/ounce, recovering slightly after the previous session's decrease of more than 55 USD.

At the end of the trading session on June 25, the price of SJC gold bars was listed by large enterprises at 117.5-119.5 million VND/tael (buy - sell), unchanged from before.

The price of plain gold rings is listed by businesses at 113.5-116 million VND/tael (buy - sell), unchanged from before.

Domestic gold prices remained unchanged while international prices increased by nearly 17 USD/ounce. Specifically, the world gold price this morning (Vietnam time) was traded around 3,335 USD/ounce, up 17 USD, equivalent to an increase of 0.5% after one day. Calculated at the exchange rate excluding taxes and fees, the precious metal is equivalent to 105.7 million VND/tael.

Gold prices recovered slightly in the trading session on June 25. Although tensions in the Middle East have somewhat cooled down following news of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran, the market is still not completely reassured. Many experts warn that the agreement is not really certain and risk factors still exist.

In a more negative scenario, without support from geopolitical tensions or a weakening USD, gold prices could slide to the $2,900/ounce range in the near future.

Free USD price skyrocketed

The USD-Index - a measure of the greenback's performance against six major currencies - fell 0.21% from the previous day to 97.48 points.

In the foreign exchange market, the central exchange rate at the end of the session on June 25 was listed by the State Bank at 25,055 VND/USD, down 3 VND compared to yesterday but still maintaining a high level since the beginning of the year. With a 5% amplitude, the ceiling and floor exchange rates are 26,307 VND/USD and 23,802 VND/USD, respectively.

The USD exchange rate listed by major banks is 25,957-26,307 VND (buy - sell), down 3 VND in both buying and selling directions. Meanwhile, at joint stock banks, the corresponding exchange rate for both buying and selling directions is 26,000-26,300 VND (buy - sell).

In the free market, the USD price is traded at 26,370-26,470 VND (buy - sell), an increase of 50 VND in both buying and selling directions.
