Gold and oil prices rise, USD stagnates

The buying price of 4-digit 9 gold bars at SJC Hanoi was listed at 68.35 million VND per tael and the selling price was 69.07 million VND.

Doji Hanoi listed at 68.25 million VND per tael for buying and 69.15 million VND per tael for selling.

On the world market, the spot gold price on Kitco floor at 9:58 p.m. on September 22, Vietnam time was at 1,928.5 USD per ounce. The futures gold price was traded at 1,948.4 USD per ounce.

On the stock market , in the trading session on September 22, VN-Index plummeted. At the end of the trading session, VN-Index decreased by 19.69 points, down to 1,193.05 points. HNX-Index decreased by 8.72 points, down to 243.15 points. UPCoM-Index decreased by 1.63 points, down to 90.76 points.

The central exchange rate between the Vietnamese Dong (VND) and the US Dollar (USD) announced by the State Bank on September 22 was 24,060 VND per USD, down 3 VND compared to the previous trading session. The USD price at commercial banks on September 22 reversed upward, regaining the 24,500 VND/USD mark in the selling direction.

Globally, the USD price has been slowing down after rising to a 6-month high. The DXY index - measuring the strength of the USD against 6 major currencies - was at 105.36 points at 9:51 p.m. on September 22, Vietnam time, down 0.01% from the previous session.

World oil prices today, September 23, tend to continue to increase following the previous session's increase. Brent oil prices are heading towards the 95 USD mark per barrel, while WTI oil prices are above 91 USD per barrel.

In the domestic market, the selling prices of gasoline and oil on September 23 were applied according to the prices at the management session on the afternoon of September 21 of the Ministry of Finance - Ministry of Industry and Trade. Accordingly, gasoline and oil prices were adjusted to increase sharply.

Specifically, the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline increased to VND24,190 per liter. The price of RON 95 gasoline is VND25,740 per liter. The price of diesel increased to VND23,590 per liter. The price of kerosene increased to VND23,810 per liter. The price of fuel oil increased to VND17,840 per liter.
