Vietnam is ready to act as a bridge between Hungary and Southeast Asia and considers Hungary an important gateway for strengthening cooperation with Central and Eastern Europe and the European Union (EU).

The General Secretary stated that Vietnam's vision and development orientation for the coming period aims to achieve two centenary goals: becoming a developing country with modern industry and high middle income by 2030; and becoming a developed country with high income by 2045.

The General Secretary discussed with President Sulyok Tamás several major directions and measures to promote relations between the two countries.

General Secretary To Lam welcomed President Sulyok Tamás's visit, which takes place in the context of the two countries celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

The President of Hungary thanked Vietnam for the warm and cordial welcome extended to him, his wife, and the Hungarian delegation.

The General Secretary suggested that the two countries should soon convene a Joint Committee on Science and Technology Cooperation to promote cooperation in innovation; and requested Hungary to train Vietnamese experts in the field of nuclear power...

Both sides agreed to promote cooperation in education, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, labor, culture, local cooperation, and to jointly organize the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

The Hungarian President recalled his vivid memories of his student days with his Vietnamese friends and his recollections of following the heroic struggle of the Vietnamese people, with the unwavering belief that Vietnam would surely triumph.

He affirmed that Hungary has always cherished the good traditional friendship and considers Vietnam a leading partner in Southeast Asia.

Cooperation between Hungary's ruling Fidesz party and the Communist Party of Vietnam is an important channel for strengthening and promoting bilateral relations.

The two leaders agreed to strengthen political trust and cohesion between the two countries and the two ruling parties, promote exchanges of delegations, and boost cooperation in trade and investment, science and technology, innovation, and education and training.
