According to a report by the Nghe An Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in 2025, the province's tourism industry is expected to welcome and serve 9,900,000 visitors, a 5% increase compared to 2024, including over 6.22 million overnight visitors and approximately 135,000 international visitors.
Total revenue from tourism (including social spending by tourists on accommodation, food, transportation, and shopping) in the province this year is estimated at 30,601 billion VND; direct tourism revenue alone reached approximately 11,921 billion VND, an increase of 7% compared to the same period in 2024 and meeting the annual plan.

The above results were achieved in the context of Nghe An's tourism industry facing numerous difficulties in 2025 due to complex weather patterns. The province was affected by typhoons No. 3, No. 5, and No. 10, causing prolonged heavy rain and flooding in many localities, directly impacting tourism infrastructure, tour schedules, and the travel psychology of tourists, especially during the peak of the rainy season.
However, a major advantage for tourism in Nghe An in 2025 is the province's successful organization of many large-scale cultural and political events, creating a strong ripple effect and becoming a highlight attracting tourists, such as the 2025 Lang Sen Festival commemorating the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth, the series of activities celebrating the 995th anniversary of the name Nghe An, the 95th anniversary of the Nghe Tinh Soviet, and ceremonies receiving certificates for the ranking of special national historical sites. Through these events, Nghe An contributes to promoting the image of President Ho Chi Minh's homeland as a safe, friendly, and culturally rich place.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in the last months of the year, tourism promotion and stimulus activities were implemented synchronously, and cultural, historical, ecological, and community tourism areas and destinations continued to maintain stable appeal. Travel and accommodation services increased significantly, especially in the segments of group tours, experiential tourism, and MICE tourism, creating more room for growth for the entire industry. In December 2025 alone, the number of tourists is estimated to reach 390,000, bringing in total revenue of nearly 885 billion VND.
State management has also been tightened to ensure that Nghe An's tourism image is safe and friendly. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism regularly directs and inspects price listing, food safety and hygiene, and security and order at tourist areas and attractions. Currently, tourism businesses in the area have proactively developed new programs and products to be ready to serve the peak seasons of the New Year and Lunar New Year 2026, promising a breakthrough start to the new year.
