Gasoline prices have dropped by more than 1,700 VND/liter, the lowest in nearly 4 years.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance has just adjusted the retail price of gasoline and oil in the adjustment period today (April 10). The application time is from 3:00 p.m. on April 10, 2025.

Specifically, the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline decreased by VND1,491/liter, down to VND18,882/liter; RON 95 gasoline decreased by VND1,712/liter, down to VND19,207/liter.

The price of 0.05S diesel decreased by VND1,235/liter, down to VND17,243/liter; kerosene decreased by VND1,322/liter, down to VND17,413/liter; the price of 180CST 3.5S mazut decreased by VND1,124/kg, down to VND15,902/kg.

In this operating period, the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance did not set aside or use the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund for E5RON92 gasoline, RON95 gasoline, diesel oil, kerosene, and mazut oil.

In the world market, oil prices increased by more than 4% after US President Donald Trump announced a temporary suspension of the tariffs he announced last week on most other countries.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the average price of finished petroleum products in the world between the price adjustment period on April 3, 2025 and the adjustment period on April 10, 2025 is: 74.184 USD/barrel of RON92 gasoline used to blend E5RON92 gasoline (down 8.939 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 10.75%); 75.334 USD/barrel of RON95 gasoline (down 9.531 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 11.23%); 79.720 USD/barrel of kerosene (down 7.740 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 8.85%); 79.484 USD/barrel of 0.05S diesel oil (down 7.714 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 8.85%); 419,528 USD/ton of 180CST 3.5S fuel oil (down 44,187 USD/ton, equivalent to a decrease of 9.53%).

This morning, April 10, 2025, Brent crude oil futures ended the session up 2.66 USD, equivalent to 4.23%, to 65.48 USD/barrel. US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil increased 2.77 USD, equivalent to 4.65%, to close at 62.35 USD/barrel.

However, both oil contracts had earlier dropped about 7% before reversing sharply higher. The reason was that concerns about weaker global oil demand, combined with OPEC+'s decision to ease production faster than expected, created a 'poison pill' that increased concerns about an oversupplied oil market.

Previously, in the April 3rd adjustment of the Ministry of Finance - Ministry of Industry and Trade, the price of E5 RON92 gasoline was no higher than VND20,373/liter, an increase of VND341/liter. RON95 gasoline was no higher than VND20,919/liter, an increase of VND495/liter.

Diesel price is no higher than 18,478 VND/liter, an increase of 261 VND/liter. Kerosene price is no higher than 18,735 VND/liter, an increase of 211 VND/liter. Fuel oil price is no higher than 17,026 VND/kg, an increase of 124 VND/kg.

In this management period, the Ministry of Finance - Ministry of Industry and Trade did not set aside or use the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund for E5RON92 gasoline, RON95 gasoline, diesel oil, kerosene, and mazut oil.

Since the beginning of 2025, domestic gasoline prices have undergone 14 adjustment sessions, including 8 decreases, 6 increases and 1 opposite session.
