
The Ministry of Industry and Trade has just sent a document to key traders and distributors of gasoline and oil regarding the management of domestic retail gasoline prices. Accordingly, gasoline prices will increase from 3 p.m. today (October 9).
Specifically, E5RON92 gasoline has a ceiling price of 19,138 VND/liter, down 486 VND/liter, lower than RON95-III gasoline by 591 VND/liter; RON95-III gasoline has a new price of 19,729 VND/liter, down 480 VND/liter compared to the previous adjustment on October 2. Following the same upward trend as gasoline prices, diesel oil price decreased by 434 VND/liter, down to 18,604 VND/liter; kerosene price decreased by 571 VND/liter, new price is 18,434 VND/liter; mazut oil decreased by 562 VND, down to 14,808 VND/kg.
Since the beginning of the year, the price stabilization fund has remained unchanged, with no deductions or expenditures for petroleum products. A representative of the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) said that up to the time before the price adjustment, the balance of the price stabilization fund (BOG) at the enterprise was 3,085 billion VND.
According to the representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in this management period, the plan to manage gasoline prices aims to ensure that domestic gasoline price fluctuations are consistent with world gasoline price fluctuations; continue to maintain the price difference between E5RON92 biofuel and RON95 mineral gasoline at a reasonable level to encourage the use of biofuels according to the Government's policy; ensure the harmony of interests between market participants.
In the most recent adjustment on October 2, gasoline prices increased simultaneously, specifically E5RON92 gasoline increased by 6 VND/liter; RON95-III gasoline increased by 44 VND/liter, diesel increased by 380 VND/liter; kerosene increased by 377 VND/liter and mazut increased by 161 VND/kg.
According to Decree No. 80/2023/ND-CP amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 95/2021/ND-CP dated November 1, 2021 and Decree No. 83/2014/ND-CP dated September 3, 2014 of the Government on petroleum trading, the time for managing petroleum prices is implemented every Thursday.
