Previously, on October 3, Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Truong Hai, of the 11th Naval Division, Vietnam Coast Guard, discovered that his personal account had unexpectedly received 230 million VND from a stranger's account. With a pure moral character, a sense of responsibility, honesty and high civic awareness, he proactively reported the incident to the Hoa Binh Ward Police to verify and find the owner of the money.
The Hoa Binh Ward Police quickly identified the person who mistakenly transferred the money as Mr. Pham Tien Thanh, residing in Binh Nguyen Commune ( Phu Tho Province). Thanks to the timely reporting, along with the close coordination between the Ward Police and Comrade Nguyen Truong Hai, the entire amount of 230 million VND was returned to Mr. Thanh on October 4.
In a thank you letter to Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Truong Hai, Squadron 11 and Hai Phong City Police, Mr. Pham Tien Thanh emotionally wrote: "This is a huge amount of money for me and my family. Thanks to the sense of responsibility and honesty of comrade Nguyen Truong Hai, along with the timely help of comrades from Hoa Binh Ward Police, I have received back the full amount of money that was mistakenly transferred."
During his studies and work at the unit, Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Truong Hai was always dedicated, responsible, not afraid of difficulties, actively cultivated, trained, completed all assigned tasks well, and was trusted by friends, comrades and teammates. His good actions were a shining example for the entire unit, demonstrating the noble qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers - the Vietnam Coast Guard soldiers.
