Gasoline price today April 9: Domestic gasoline may return to 19,000 VND/liter from tomorrow afternoon

World crude oil prices fell sharply after the news that the US would impose a 104% tax on goods from China and maintain the high reciprocal tax rates previously imposed on many countries from today (April 9). World oil prices have plunged more than 16% since April 2 and the downward trend has not stopped. Domestically, gasoline prices are forecast to drop sharply from tomorrow afternoon (April 10).

On the morning of April 9, world oil prices fell sharply, Brent oil fell by 1.39 USD, equivalent to 2.16%, to 62.82 USD/barrel; WTI oil fell by 1.12 USD, equivalent to 1.85%, to 59.58 USD/barrel.

Both oil benchmarks have lost about 16% since April 2, when US President Donald Trump announced tariffs on all imports into the US.

From today, April 9, according to Reuters, the US will impose a 104% tax on China, increasing tariffs by 50% after China did not remove its 34% retaliatory tax on US goods.

Global trade tensions have escalated and raised concerns about a global economic slowdown, a risk that has been further reinforced by a decline in energy demand.

Domestic gasoline prices may fall to 19,000 VND/liter from tomorrow afternoon.

Goldman Sachs is forecasting oil prices to fall to $51-$55 a barrel by the end of the year, close to the US's desire to sharply reduce oil prices. So far, the crude oil market has fallen despite data showing a sharp increase in US oil inventories, according to the American Petroleum Institute.

Crude oil market today is forecast to continue its downward trend.

Faced with the sharp downward trend of world prices, the price of finished petroleum products referenced from the Singapore market also plummeted last week. Specifically, the price of RON 95 gasoline in the Singapore market fell to 73.41 USD/barrel, down more than 12 USD/barrel compared to 6 days ago; RON 92 gasoline was at 72.72 USD/barrel, down more than 11 USD/barrel.

According to the above developments, some key traders predict that domestic gasoline prices will decrease sharply in the adjustment period tomorrow (April 10). The decrease for gasoline products ranges from 1,400 - 1,800 VND/liter; the decrease for oil prices ranges from 1,200 - 1,300 VND/liter. This forecast does not include the Gasoline Price Stabilization Fund./.
