Gasoline price today June 19, 2025 on the world market

On the morning of June 19, oil prices recorded mixed fluctuations after a sharp increase of more than 5% in the previous trading session. Specifically, Brent crude oil prices decreased slightly by 0.2 USD, equivalent to 0.26%, to 76.25 USD/barrel, while WTI crude oil increased slightly by 0.17 USD, equivalent to 0.23%, reaching 75.01 USD/barrel.

As of now, the two international benchmarks of oil are fluctuating between $75 and $76 per barrel, indicating that the possibility of a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz (Iran) - an important energy transport route - is very low, despite the increasing tension between Iran and Israel. According to information from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA), about 20% of global oil consumption is transported through this strait.

Analysts say that if the Strait of Hormuz is blocked, world oil prices could rise sharply and the risk of conflict would increase, affecting many oil-importing countries. A worst-case scenario is that oil prices could rise to $130 per barrel if Iran actually blocks the Strait.

Moreover, even if Iran does not block the Strait of Hormuz, military action against its oil infrastructure, such as refineries and export systems, could push oil prices to $80 to $90 a barrel. An energy policy analyst told Reuters that if the current situation continues, oil prices could stabilize at around $80 a barrel, with the possibility of a further $5 to $10 a barrel increase.

In Vietnam, retail gasoline prices will be adjusted by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Trade this afternoon in an upward direction. The Vietnam Petroleum Institute predicts that the price of E5 RON92 gasoline may increase by VND1,255 (6.5%) to VND20,725/liter, while RON95 gasoline may increase by VND1,317 (6.6%) to VND21,277/liter. Diesel prices may increase by 6.9% to VND18,921/liter, kerosene by 6.9% to VND18,718/liter, and fuel oil by 7.7% to VND17,727/kg.

If this forecast is correct, it will be the fourth consecutive week of gasoline price increases. Currently, this fuel price is still at the lowest level in the past 4 years, equivalent to May 2021.
