According to plan, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance will adjust retail gasoline prices periodically tomorrow (August 29).
The leader of a key petroleum distribution enterprise in the South said that after the previous adjustment period, crude oil prices continued to decrease.
On August 27, the price of imported gasoline in the Singapore market was at 89.58 USD/barrel for RON 95 gasoline and 86.1 USD/barrel for RON 92 gasoline. Therefore, it is likely that domestic gasoline prices may continue to decrease in this adjustment period, but the decrease will be less than the previous adjustment period.
Specifically, gasoline prices are expected to decrease by about 100-200 VND/liter, while diesel prices may decrease by about 200-250 VND/liter. In case the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance draw from the Price Stabilization Fund, gasoline prices may decrease less.
Similarly, the owner of a petroleum distribution company in the North also predicted that gasoline prices will continue to decrease in tomorrow's operating period. The discount on gasoline on August 28 at many warehouses is currently around 1,100-1,450 VND/liter.
If forecasts are correct, domestic gasoline prices will have a second consecutive decrease, continuing to bring this commodity to its lowest level of the year. Since the beginning of the year, gasoline prices have increased 17 times and decreased 17 times; diesel has increased 16 times and decreased 16 times.
Currently, the room for the petroleum price stabilization fund of some key enterprises is still recording a large positive level because in many recent management periods, the fund has not been used. Of which, as of August 28, Petrolimex recorded a positive fund of VND 3,078 billion; PV Oil had a negative fund of more than VND 138 billion; Saigon Petro had a positive fund of VND 328 billion; Petimex had a positive fund of VND 460 billion...
In the most recent adjustment period on August 22, the management agency decided to reduce the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline by 460 VND/liter to 20,420 VND/liter; RON 95 gasoline by 540 VND/liter to 21,310 VND/liter. Similarly, the price of diesel also decreased by 460 VND/liter to 18,770 VND/liter; the price of kerosene decreased by 430 VND/liter to 19,140 VND/liter. Fuel oil also decreased to 15,750 VND/kg.
In the world market, oil prices have recently tended to increase slightly after data on US oil inventories decreased. According to data from Trading Economics , at 9:00 a.m. on August 28, WTI oil prices increased by 0.25% to 75.7 USD/barrel, Brent oil increased by 0.19% to 79.7 USD/barrel.
