Vietnam National Championship Football Tournament in Japan 2023

The Vietnamese National Football Championship Cup in Japan is a sports exchange activity within the series of programs celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan. The football tournament is a sports playground that brings many practical and meaningful purposes. It not only helps players exercise, satisfy their passion, but also connects the community, increases solidarity and friendship.

On December 10, at Redsland Stadium, Saitama Prefecture (Japan), the final round of the 2023 Vietnam National Football Championship Cup in Japan (FAVIJA CUP 2023) took place. This is a meaningful sports exchange activity within the series of programs celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan.

The tournament is organized by the Vietnam-Japan International Exchange Organization (FAVIJA) and sponsored by the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, for Vietnamese people living, working and studying in Japan as well as Japanese friends who share the same passion for football.

This year's finals will feature the top 32 amateur teams from qualifying tournaments held in seven regions across Japan from February to late November 2023.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the final round, Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu emphasized that in the year commemorating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Japan relations, more than 500 meaningful events were held in both countries, especially in Japan.

Among them, cultural and sports exchange activities also took place very enthusiastically in all 47 localities of Japan. Organizing football exchange activities contributed to strengthening the connection not only within the Vietnamese community in Japan but also between Vietnamese people and Japanese friends.

At the end of the tournament, the championship belonged to FC Nishio Asia Zone Car, the runner-up was FC Sun Shine and the two third-place clubs were FC ISC Nghe An and FC 37 Nagoya. In addition to the prizes in kind, the champion team also had the honor of receiving a commemorative ball signed by President Vo Van Thuong.

The organizing committee also awarded individual prizes, including the Top Scorer award to player Nguyen Duc Giang (FC Hai Duong), the Best Goalkeeper award to goalkeeper Pham Thanh Tuyen and the Best Player award to player Nguyen Duc Tuan, both from FC Nishio Asia Zone Car./.
