On the morning of August 18, the open chess cup competition between Ha Giang and Tuyen Quang provinces was held with the participation of 74 players from clubs inside and outside the province coming to compete for the prize.

At the tournament, athletes compete in individual events in the form of 7-round rapid chess matches. The competition includes: Group U6+U7; Group U8+U9; Group U10+U11; Group U12+U13 for players from 7 to 13 years old; and the OPEN group for players from 14 years old and up. Besides entertainment, chess is also a sport that helps improve concentration and enhance memory.

When playing chess, children and teenagers will learn how to come up with a series of solutions to the same problem and consider choosing the optimal move. The tournament helps develop the chess training movement, creating conditions for players to exchange, improve their skills and promote chess among the province's youth. At the same time, it strengthens solidarity between Ha Giang and Tuyen Quang provinces in the upcoming sports and physical training movements.
