Rescue of 14-year-old girl who was beaten and forced to serve customers at karaoke bar

On November 27, the Criminal Police Department of Quang Nam Province Police announced that it had just executed an emergency search warrant and temporarily detained Bui Nguyen Thai Ngoc (31 years old) and Nguyen Hong Vuong (28 years old, both residing in Minh Long District, Quang Ngai Province) to investigate the act of "Trafficking in persons under 16 years old".

Previously, on the evening of November 25, the Criminal Police Department of Quang Nam Provincial Police coordinated with the Criminal Police Department of Quang Ngai Provincial Police and Nghia Hanh District Police (Quang Ngai Province) to rescue VTH (14 years old, residing in Tien Phuoc District, Quang Nam Province) when H. was asked by Vuong to serve customers at a karaoke business in Hanh Minh Commune, Nghia Hanh District.

Through the investigation, the subjects confessed that H. previously worked at karaoke businesses in Huong An town, Que Son district, Quang Nam province, managed by Bui Nguyen Thai Ngoc. Through discussion and agreement, Vuong and Ngoc agreed to buy and sell H. for 38 million VND.

It is known that during work, H. was often beaten, threatened, and forced to work at the karaoke business.

According to authorities, in April 2023, Ngoc also transferred a female employee from Quang Ngai province to Vuong for 20 million VND. Searching the residence of these people, the police force temporarily seized 5 mobile phones, 1 laptop, 1 camera recorder, 3 citizen identification cards, 1 bank card and a number of related objects and documents.

The Criminal Police Department of Quang Nam Province Police warned people to be vigilant and take measures to strictly manage their children and minors so that they are not lured or enticed into committing illegal acts by bad people.
