(CPV) - The 2023 National Jujitsu Club Championship is organized to create opportunities for athletes to compete and improve their skills; select additional athletes to join the national team to participate in regional and international tournaments.
On March 9, the Vietnam Jujitsu Federation coordinated with the Department of Culture, Information, Sports and Tourism of Bac Lieu province to organize the opening ceremony of the 2023 National Jujitsu Club Championship.
Jujitsu is a traditional Japanese martial art that uses the dexterity and flexibility of the body to overcome the opponent's strength. Although quite new in Vietnam, this sport has been recording more and more athletes practicing and competing at high levels domestically and internationally.
This year's National Jujitsu Club Championship gathered 240 athletes (193 men and 47 women) from 25 provinces, cities and sectors nationwide to participate such as: Bac Lieu, Soc Trang , Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang... At the tournament, athletes competed in the following categories: Newaza Gi, Newaza NoGi, Fighting, Show, Duo.
The 2023 National Jujitsu Club Championship is held in Bac Lieu to evaluate the quality of athlete training in localities; create opportunities for athletes to compete and improve their professional skills; review and select more excellent athletes to add to the national team to participate in regional and international tournaments. In particular, select excellent athletes to add to the national team to participate in the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia.
The tournament takes place from March 9-15 at Bac Lieu Province Multi-purpose Gymnasium.
