Meaningful "zero-dong stall" in Bang Thanh

In the poor commune of Bang Thanh, Thai Nguyen province, the local police have pondered, thought about and implemented a unique idea: "Zero-dong booth" for poor households bringing their children under 14 years old to get their first ID card.

Bang Thanh is the farthest commune from the provincial capital and also one of the most difficult communes of Thai Nguyen. The majority of people still face difficulties in economic development.

Difficulties in life make people less interested in bringing children under 14 years old to get ID cards.

Sharing and sympathizing with the difficulties of the people, Bang Thanh Commune Police have created and implemented a unique model of "Zero-dong stall".

Accordingly, poor households in the commune when bringing their children under 14 years old to get their first ID card will be given 5kg of rice or let the children choose a gift such as school supplies, toys, warm clothes...

Since November 1, police officers and soldiers have supported and called for donations of clothes, school bags, toys, rice, etc. and personally arranged, decorated, and preserved them at the headquarters. The office has become a warm, welcoming place, neatly arranged, and colorfully lively.

The ethnic minority boys and girls from poor households are able to choose their own warm clothes and colorful toys. Parents also feel the care and encouragement of the government in implementing the general policy of first-time ID issuance.

In the first 3 days alone, this creative model welcomed 30 children to make ID cards and receive gifts from the booth.

The model's spread has received the sharing and support of many people. According to Bang Thanh Commune Police, initially, the unit only set a target of sharing 150 gifts. However, currently, many organizations and individuals continue to support to help the booth become more and more diverse, and can be maintained for a longer time.

It can be said that the model of Bang Thanh Commune Police not only helps effectively implement the issuance of ID cards for children under 14 years old but is also a "channel" to bring practical support from philanthropists to help poor households in the area. The model also shows the image of the People's Police soldiers being close to the people, close to the people, for the people, and is a good way to do that should be replicated in the coming time.
