On June 4, the Women's Union of Muong La district organized a folk dance exchange program and a performance of traditional costumes to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Muong La District Party Committee (June 15, 1949 - June 15, 2024), and the 45th anniversary of moving the district center to It Ong town (1979 - 2024).
The exchange program had the participation of 12 teams with nearly 200 contestants from clubs and mass art troupes in communes and towns in the district. The teams went through 2 competitions: Folk dance and ethnic costume performance. In the folk dance competition, the teams performed dances to the music of songs praising the homeland, country, family, and fine traditions of the Vietnamese people, combined with creative selection of traditional costumes. In the ethnic costume performance, the performing units wore typical costumes of ethnic groups in the district, such as Thai, Mong, Kinh, La Ha... The teams also used props, which were items associated with the daily life of each ethnic group, with commentary, accompanying dances... The teams brought elaborately staged and creative performances, creating a joyful, vibrant, and impressive atmosphere, attracting a large audience to watch and cheer.
The folk dance exchange program and ethnic costume performance are opportunities for communes and towns to exchange, promote mass art movements, and build cultural life. At the same time, it raises awareness of responsibility for preserving, maintaining, restoring, and promoting fine traditional values, contributing to building and developing an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity.
At the end of the exchange program, the Organizing Committee awarded first prize to the Muong Bu commune team; 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes and 6 consolation prizes to the teams.
