The Dau Giay-Tan Phu expressway project worth more than VND8,400 billion will start construction in August.

The Ministry of Construction has signed a contract with the investor of the Dau Giay-Tan Phu Expressway Project, however, due to insufficient land area, construction is expected to start in August 2025.

According to the report of the Ministry of Construction, up to now, Dong Nai province has handed over 500m of the first section of the route (at Dau Giay intersection), however, the scope is short and mainly excavated ground and there is no location for coordination and dumping, so starting construction in June is ineffective.

“Therefore, the investor has proposed to start construction in August 2025 after Dong Nai province hands over more land,” the leader of the Ministry of Construction added.

The Dau Giay-Tan Phu Expressway construction investment project (phase 1) under the public-private partnership (PPP) method, has a total length of more than 60km.

The starting point is at Km 0+000 at the intersection with National Highway 1, connecting with Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, located in Dau Giay town, Thong Nhat district, Dong Nai province. The ending point is at Km 60+243.83 (the end of the intersection with National Highway 20), connecting with the Tan Phu (Dong Nai) - Bao Loc (Lam Dong) Expressway Construction Project, located in Phu Trung commune, Tan Phu district, Dong Nai province.

In phase 1, this expressway is invested with a scale of 4 lanes, roadbed width of 17 m. At locations of soft soil treatment, excavated and raised roadbed, intersections, emergency stops, and bridge works on the expressway, the cross-section is designed according to the scale of the completed phase of 24.75 m.

The project has an investment of over VND8,400 billion. Of which, the investor capital is over VND7,100 billion, the State capital is about VND1,300 billion. The investor consortium selected to implement the project is the Truong Hai-Son Hai Transport Infrastructure Development Construction Consortium.

The project has a construction completion time of 24 months from the date of commencement of construction. The operation and business time is 16 years, 11 months and 21 days from the date of commencement of road toll collection.

The Dau Giay-Tan Phu Expressway Project is an important piece of the Dau Giay-Lien Khuong Expressway, creating a driving force for connectivity, promoting cooperation and socio-economic development of Dong Nai province in particular and the Southeast region with the Mekong Delta, the Central Highlands and the South Central region; increasing the competitiveness of the economy in the context of deep integration./.
