NDO - On October 29, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam and Cambodia organized a Young Leaders Exchange Seminar between the Vietnam People's Army and the Royal Cambodian Army.
Major General Nguyen Van Hoang, Deputy Chief of Staff of Military Region 7 and Major General Ngthsovann Arundeth, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army, Royal Cambodian Army co-chaired.
The exchange seminar was attended by members of the young leadership delegation of the Vietnam People's Army and the Royal Cambodian Army; functional agencies of the Ministry of National Defense and Military Region 7.
Major General Nguyen Van Hoang said: This is an activity of profound political , diplomatic and humanitarian significance, aiming to enhance understanding, exchange and working relations between individuals representing young military leaders of Vietnam and Cambodia.
The seminar also contributed to further deepening political trust, solidarity and traditional friendship between the two countries in general and the military in particular.
This is one of the practical activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024), and the 79th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Military Region 7.

At the Dialogue, the two sides agreed that in the coming time, young officers of the two armies will continue to consolidate and strengthen solidarity and friendship. Promote exchange activities and share experiences; and make the exchange activities of young officers of the two armies more practical and effective.
Further promote cooperation in the field of training, fostering and coaching young officers. The youth of the two countries in general and young officers in the two countries' armies in particular actively support each other in multilateral and international forums; actively participate in the search, collection and repatriation of the remains of Vietnamese experts and volunteer soldiers who died in Cambodia.
Strengthening education and propaganda work for cadres, soldiers, youth union members, young officers and people of the two countries; contributing to further deepening political trust and understanding on the relationship of "Good neighbors, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, long-term sustainability" between the two peoples of Vietnam and Cambodia.
Speaking at the seminar, Major General Ngthsovann Arundeth affirmed: Cambodia's victories and achievements in peace and prosperity have had no small contribution from the Party, Government, Army and people of Vietnam, which is a good neighbor in Cambodia's difficult circumstances.
The two countries share a common border and are active members of ASEAN; the two sides need to continue to maintain a relationship of solidarity, friendship, trust and closer cooperation to build and firmly protect the Fatherland, maintain security, stability and develop the region in general and the two countries in particular.
The Deputy Chief of Staff of Military Region 7 shared: Organizing exchanges between young military leaders of the two countries is very important; both to exchange and learn experiences, good practices, and creativity; at the same time, to foster in the young generation of the two countries' armies a strong political stance, absolute loyalty to the Fatherland and people, and proactively carry out successfully all assigned tasks.

According to the schedule, after the exchange seminar, the delegation of young military leaders of Vietnam and Cambodia will visit and exchange experiences in improving the quality of discipline management and building a regular order with officers and soldiers of Division 5 (Military Region 7); visit, exchange professional experiences and participate in sports exchanges with officers and soldiers of the Can Tho City Military Command, Engineering Brigade 25 (Military Region 9); visit a number of historical and cultural relic sites in Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho.
The youth leadership exchange between the Vietnam People's Army and the Royal Cambodian Army takes place from now until November 3.
