This year's HKDN program took place from December 12th to 14th with many meaningful activities, helping students become more confident before entering the labor market.

Sharing and guiding students.

The 4th Congress of the Vietnam Student Union of Dong Nai Province, for the term 2023-2028, set forth many key contents, including the Project to Support Dong Nai Students in Starting and Establishing Businesses. According to Phan The Cong, Deputy Secretary of the Dong Nai Provincial Youth Union, this is not just a slogan but a commitment of the organization to accompany students on their journey of self-development and career building. For many years, the Provincial Youth Union and the Provincial Student Union have coordinated with the Provincial Young Entrepreneurs Association to maintain the Business Association to help students gain practical experience and hone their skills, attitudes, and professional conduct while still in school.

Through numerous editions, the annual activities of the Student Union have consistently evolved and been supplemented to suit practical conditions. In addition to maintaining visits and learning experiences at businesses, a special feature of this year's Student Union is the participation and sharing of experiences by business leaders and managers, helping students better understand businesses, entrepreneurship, and the opportunities and challenges students face when entering the business environment.

Mr. Nguyen Duy Khuong, Vice Chairman of the Young Entrepreneurs Association of Dong Nai province and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Corporation 939 (in Long Binh ward), shared: He and other entrepreneurs of the Young Entrepreneurs Association of Dong Nai province were once young people working in the business environment, going through the startup phase and managing businesses, overcoming many difficulties and challenges to maintain operations until today.

From a business perspective, companies always want graduates to not only acquire knowledge from school but also quickly adapt to the business environment, be responsible for their work, be humble and eager to learn, and be diligent. Therefore, when participating as a speaker at the Business Forum, Mr. Khuong conveyed all his positive energy, the advantages and difficulties in the entrepreneurial journey, and the expectations of business owners for newly graduated employees seeking employment. This allowed students to identify areas where they need improvement before entering the labor market.

Within the framework of the Student Union, students also received guidance from Mr. Tran Nhan Giap, Director of 1Car Garage Co., Ltd. (in Trang Dai ward), on the ideal professional student model in a modern business environment; skills in building a CV (resume) and positioning oneself in the labor market.

Mr. Tran Nhan Giap stated that: Through the workshop on the professional student role model in the business environment, he wanted to help students visualize the qualities of a professional student when participating in a business work environment. In addition, as a business owner who has read many CVs of job applicants, he pointed out to students the shortcomings of applicants when writing CVs so that students can overcome them in the process of building their own CVs.

An opportunity for students to learn and improve themselves.

Although only a second-year student, after researching and learning about the many beneficial activities offered by the Dong Nai Provincial Student Union, Nguyen Ha Xuan Nhu (a second-year student in the Finance and Accounting Faculty at Lac Hong University) considered this an opportunity she couldn't miss. Ms. Xuan Nhu said: "As soon as I saw the program information posted on the Dong Nai Provincial Student Union's fanpage, I immediately registered to participate. I attended all three days of the Student Union, not missing a single activity."

According to Ms. Xuan Nhu, during the Business Training Program, she and other participants spent two days visiting and learning about businesses in Dong Nai province and Ho Chi Minh City, such as Co.op Xtra Pham Van Dong, Gigamall Shopping Center; Tuong Lai Co., Ltd.; Vedan Vietnam Co., Ltd.; Diep Nam Phuong Investment Joint Stock Company, etc.

At the businesses, Ms. Xuan Nhu listened to representatives share about the formation and development process, areas of operation, production and business processes, human resource needs, and corporate culture. Through visiting various areas, departments, and production lines, students gained a better understanding of the work ethic and sense of responsibility of employees and workers at these businesses. In particular, students had the opportunity to learn about the requirements and expectations of businesses for recent graduates seeking employment, helping them identify areas for improvement and opening up opportunities when applying for jobs.

In the coming time, the Youth Union and Student Association of Dong Nai province will continue to refine the Business Semester Program, closely linking schools, businesses, and the Youth Union and Student Association, creating opportunities for students to access businesses in many industries and fields, and participate deeply in career experience activities.

Deputy Secretary of the Dong Nai Provincial Youth Union Phan The Cong

After years of missing out due to studying and working part-time, this year Bui Duy Tan (a final-year veterinary science student at the Faculty of Health Sciences , Eastern University of Technology, Dau Giay commune) has registered to participate in the HKDN (Humanitarian and Veterinary Science Association).

Tan said: Besides wanting to create more beautiful memories during his student years, he also hoped to learn and fill in the "gaps" in knowledge and skills not found in textbooks, so that he could confidently embark on his future career path.

It is clear that supporting students in establishing themselves and their careers goes beyond simply equipping them with necessary knowledge and skills; it also contributes to shaping their character, personality, and sound thinking. This forms a solid foundation for students to confidently establish themselves, build successful careers, and make positive contributions to society.
