GNI supports overcoming the consequences of storm No. 5 in Ha Tinh

On October 15, 2025, GNI presented a support package to overcome the consequences of storm No. 5 (Kajiki) to Xuan Yen Primary School, Tien Dien Commune, Ha Tinh Province with a total budget of 770 million VND (equivalent to 30,000 USD) and a package of aid worth 41.5 million VND (including polo shirts, children's pillows and mosquito rackets).

The support package focuses on repairing the roof and ceiling of the 14-classroom building and auxiliary items such as the boarding house, multi-purpose hall, kitchen, and equipping the school with new computers, televisions, and speaker systems. In addition, 17 gifts including a summer and winter uniform and cash worth 1.5 million VND/student were given to 17 severely affected students.

“Meaningful gifts not only help us have better learning conditions, but are also a source of warm encouragement, helping us understand that somewhere there are still hearts that always love and care for students in this small countryside. Hopefully we will be able to welcome GNI teachers back to school, to show them a more spacious school, filled with laughter and growing dreams,” said Nguyen Thi Tuong Vy, a 5th grade student at Xuan Yen Primary School.

After storm No. 5 (Kajiki) in late August 2025, Ha Tinh province was one of the localities that suffered the most damage with thousands of houses having their roofs blown off, 47 schools and many other structures severely damaged. At Xuan Yen Primary School (Tien Dien commune) alone, the entire roof of 14 two-story classrooms was blown away, the ceiling cracked, and many teaching equipment were completely damaged, affecting the teaching and learning of teachers and students. In that context, restoring school facilities became an urgent need to ensure safety and learning convenience for students.

The support package not only provides 519 students and teachers with a safer and more comfortable learning environment, but also inspires their optimism and will to rise up after the natural disaster. At the same time, through this activity, GNI continues to affirm its commitment to accompany Vietnamese localities in their efforts to build sustainable communities and create opportunities for comprehensive development for children.
