Google Doodle celebrates Vietnam National Day
On September 2, 1945, at the historic Ba Dinh Square, on behalf of the provisional government, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence before the entire nation and compatriots, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.
The Declaration of Independence solemnly declared to the world : “A people who have courageously resisted French slavery for more than 80 years, a people who have courageously stood with the Allies against fascism for several years, that people must be free! That people must be independent!... Vietnam has the right to enjoy freedom and independence and in fact has become a free and independent country.
The entire Vietnamese people are determined to devote all their spirit and strength, their lives and property to maintaining that freedom and independence.”
September 2, 1945 is a brilliant milestone in the four thousand year journey of building and defending the country of the Vietnamese people.
This historical event officially ended the feudal period that existed for thousands of years, eliminating the domination of French colonialism for more than 80 years. To achieve these great achievements, the entire Vietnamese nation had to sacrifice blood and lives, standing up to fight for independence and freedom.
National Day opened a new era, for the first time the Vietnamese people had the right to hold their heads high, proud to become citizens of a free and independent country. Over time, to date, Vietnam has become a prestigious country in the international arena.
Every year, on September 2, Vietnamese people remember this historical moment to remind themselves to live better and contribute to the construction and protection of the country.
