Professor, Doctor of Science Nguyen Huu Tang passed away

According to information from his family, Professor, Dr. Nguyen Huu Tang, former Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, passed away due to colon cancer at the age of 89.

The Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam , the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations and the family deeply regret to announce:

Comrade Professor, Doctor of Science Nguyen Huu Tang, born on June 21, 1937; hometown Yen Thuong commune, Gia Lam district, Hanoi city; permanent residence at No. 104, Lane 44, Tran Nhan Tong street, Cau Giay district, Hanoi city.

He was formerly Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Science and Education Bloc, Deputy Head of the Central Science and Education Committee (now the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee), and former Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations.

Due to old age and serious illness, he passed away at 01:00 on June 22, 2025, at the age of 89.

He was awarded by the Party and State with the Second Class Independence Medal, the Second Class Resistance Medal against the US, National Salvation Medal, the Second Class Labor Medal, the First Class Labor Medal of the Lao PDR, 6 years as an Emulation Fighter of Hanoi City, Outstanding Intellectual of 2022 of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and many other noble Medals and Medals. Badges of 40, 50, 55 years of Party membership.

The funeral of Comrade Professor, Dr. Nguyen Huu Tang was held according to the High-Level Funeral ceremony.

The visitation begins at 8:30 a.m. on June 24, 2025 at the National Funeral Home, No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong, Hanoi; The memorial service is at 10:00 a.m. the same day. Burial will be at Thien Duc Cemetery Park, Phu Ninh, Phu Tho.
