Ha Giang: Stealing more than 100 million VND in funeral money

On April 13, according to information from Ha Giang Provincial Police, Bac Quang District Police coordinated with Hanoi City Police units to successfully arrest Khanh Van Tung (born 2007, residing in Ban Den village, Tung Ba commune, Vi Xuyen district, Ha Giang) to investigate the act of property theft.

Previously, Bac Quang District Police received a report from Mr. Dang Giang S. (born in 1961, residing in Nam Buong village, Viet Vinh commune, Bac Quang district) that his family had just been broken into and a large amount of money was stolen.

According to the report, at 7:00 a.m. on April 13, a thief took advantage of Mr. S's family's funeral to sneak in and steal an offering box and 3 cell phones.

Immediately after receiving the report, Bac Quang District Police coordinated with Hanoi City Police to verify and arrest the criminal.

After 10 hours of investigation, the authorities arrested Khanh Van Tung while he was hiding in Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi.

Tung admitted to all the thefts. The police confiscated over 100 million VND and 3 mobile phones that Mr. S.'s family had reported stolen.

The case is being further investigated and clarified by Ha Giang Provincial Police.

Previously, on April 10, Thai Binh Provincial Police also arrested two people who broke into the Thai Binh City People's Committee headquarters to steal property on April 7.

The identities of these two people are Le Thanh Loc (44 years old, residing in Hoai Xuan ward, Hoai Nhon town, Binh Dinh province) and Nguyen Van Thanh (47 years old, residing in Phu Phong town, Tay Son district, Binh Dinh province).

After 2 days of pursuit, police arrested Loc and Thanh while they were hiding in Cam Giang district, Hai Duong province.

At the police station, Loc and Thanh confessed that they had previously broken into and committed many thefts at the People's Committee headquarters of several provinces and cities.
