On the evening of May 12, because of work in the Chua Lang area ( Hanoi ), Ms. AN and her friend went to a Hue beef noodle restaurant to have dinner. They both ate happily until almost finished eating, Ms. AN was shocked to discover a "strange object" that looked like a small cockroach corpse in the middle of the bowl.
Seeing this, the customer called the restaurant staff to report the incident. However, the attitude and way these staff handled the situation surprised the two customers.
According to Ms. AN, at first, when an employee saw the "strange object", he immediately said in a superficial manner, "This was due to negligence."

After that, the customer proactively called back, wanting to meet the manager to complain, but the staff said the owner was not present.
Next, another employee from the kitchen came out to ask what was going on. Seeing the animal in the bowl of noodles, this person thought that the animal might have been stuck in the vegetables and fallen out.
The customer claimed that this was a "strange object" in the pot of broth, but the staff replied "I don't know". In the end, everyone went back to the kitchen to continue working without any apology or attitude towards the customer.
Frustrated by the unfair treatment, Ms. AN paid in full and left. Afterwards, the guest's post attracted the attention of the online community with a large number of interactions.
Most of the opinions are that in the food service industry, unfortunate incidents such as cockroaches, worms, and hair in food are inevitable. However, the most important thing is the attitude and way the restaurant treats customers.
"The way you treat customers is very important. I used to eat at a Thai noodle shop. When I saw a dead bee in my bowl of noodles and complained, the manager of the shop immediately came to apologize.
They don't charge for the meal and give away a cup of milk tea. Even though I said it wasn't necessary, the restaurant's way of handling it is very responsive, making customers satisfied," an account named Dy Ly spoke up.

According to investigation, the beef noodle shop where the incident occurred is located on Chua Lang Street (Lang Thuong Ward, Dong Da District).
Speaking to Dan Tri reporter, the restaurant owner confirmed that the incident happened on the evening of May 12. At that time, the restaurant owner was not present at the business and only learned about the incident when the staff spoke to him.
According to the restaurant owner, when asked what the "strange object" that appeared in the customer's bowl of noodles was, the staff said it was a flower that fell from the vegetables. The restaurant has a surveillance camera installed, but because the customer's table was far away, it was difficult to confirm exactly.
Through discussion, the restaurant owner said that he had corrected the attitude of the staff when serving customers. One staff member was fired after this incident.
"If I had been at the restaurant at that time, I would have apologized to the customer and not charged the meal as a way to show my willingness to learn. This was an unfortunate incident and the restaurant will learn from it and avoid repeating it. We also want to contact the customer to apologize," the restaurant owner said.
For her part, Ms. AN believes that in the process of operating a restaurant business, incidents are inevitable. However, her purpose is to help restaurants learn from experience about how to treat customers.
