Hanoi: Average CPI in 7 months increased by 3.29%

Hanoi's average CPI in the first 7 months of 2025 increased by 3.29% compared to the same period in 2024.

On the morning of August 2, Hanoi City Statistics reported that the consumer price index (CPI) in July 2025 in Hanoi increased by 0.29% compared to the previous month, increased by 2.13% compared to December 2024 and increased by 3.82% compared to the same period last year. The average CPI in the first 7 months of this year increased by 3.29% compared to the average in the same period in 2024.

In July 2025, 9/11 CPI groups increased compared to the previous month; 2/11 CPI groups decreased compared to the previous month, including the transportation group decreased by 0.15% (causing the overall CPI to decrease by 0.01%); the post and telecommunications group decreased by 0.09%.

On average, in the first 7 months of 2025, CPI increased by 3.29% compared to the same period last year.

Of which, 8/11 commodity groups had average CPI increases, including the group of medicines and medical services increased by 15.41% (causing the overall CPI to increase by 0.79%). The reason is that the prices of medical examination and treatment services at hospitals in the city apply new levels according to regulations.

The housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction materials group increased by 8.02% (causing the CPI to increase by 1.63%), of which clean water prices increased by 3.6%; electricity prices increased by 6.08%; rental prices increased by 10.6%.

The culture, entertainment and tourism group increased by 3.95% (causing the CPI to increase by 0.19%).

The food and catering services group increased by 2.83% (causing the CPI to increase by 0.88%), of which eating out increased by 4.28%; food prices increased by 3.88%; foodstuffs increased by 2.15%.

The garment, hat and footwear group increased by 1.94% (causing the CPI to increase by 0.11%).

The beverage and tobacco group increased by 1.69% (causing a 0.03% increase in CPI). The household equipment and appliances group increased by 0.86% (causing a 0.06% increase in CPI).

The group of other goods and services increased by 4.81% (causing the CPI to increase by 0.17%) mainly due to the price of jewelry increasing by 48.63%; the price of health insurance services increased by 29.98%.

The groups with an average CPI decrease in the 7 months are transportation down 3.19% (impacting a 0.31% decrease in CPI); education down 1.79% (impacting a 0.14% decrease in CPI); post and telecommunications down 0.77% (impacting a 0.02% decrease in CPI).

Gold price index in July increased by 1.25% over the previous month, increased by 40.11% over December 2024 and increased by 54.99% over the same period last year.

On average, in the first 7 months of 2025, the gold price index increased by 46.6% compared to the same period in 2024.

The US dollar price index in July increased by 0.34% over the previous month, increased by 3.24% over December 2024 and increased by 3.34% over the same period last year.

On average, in the first 7 months of 2025, the US dollar price index increased by 3.35% compared to the same period in 2024.
