According to the previously announced schedule, today (July 10), the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, specialized high schools, and non-specialized high schools under the department will approve additional benchmark scores for grade 10.

However, some schools said they received notices from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training to postpone the additional benchmark approval schedule. At the same time, there is no specific next approval schedule yet.

According to the plan announced by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, from 1:30 p.m. on July 5 to July 7, students admitted to high schools will confirm their enrollment in person or online.

On July 8, schools compiled a list of students confirmed to enroll in grade 10 for the 2024-2025 school year. After that, they compared it with the enrollment quota for grade 10 this school year assigned by the Department of Education and Training. If there are not enough students, public high schools will enroll additional students.

On July 10, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, specialized high schools, and non-specialized high schools approved additional admission scores for grade 10. From July 12 to 15, students who passed the additional admission will complete admission procedures.

The postponement of the additional admission score approval schedule has caused many parents whose children did not pass their three admission wishes or did not pass their wishes as expected to be anxious and worried. In fact, thousands of candidates are waiting for the Hanoi Department of Education and Training to lower their admission scores so they can have the opportunity to study at public high schools.

This year, due to the increase in the number of candidates registering for the 10th grade entrance exam, the enrollment quota at public high schools has decreased. Allowing candidates to register "closed" once has led to many consequences such as the paradox of high scores failing, low scores passing, or schools with quality benchmarks suddenly dropping.
