Although craft villages in Hanoi have many products certified as OCOP products, consumption is not easy. Therefore, to create stable output for products, Hanoi City has promoted trade promotion activities and connected product consumption.
In particular, along with expansion in the inner city area, Hanoi always focuses on developing OCOP product introduction and sales points in suburban areas, associated with business locations, craft village tourism, and rural tourism.
By the end of 2023, Hanoi will have over 100 OCOP product introduction and sales points. Of these, Hanoi has developed over 20 OCOP points associated with tourism and craft villages such as: Van Phuc silk weaving village; Bat Trang ceramics village; Duong Lam ancient village - Son Tay town; Van Tu sewing village, Son Ha woodworking village - Phu Xuyen district; Ha Thai lacquer craft village, Thuong Tin; community tourism in Hong Van commune, Thuong Tin district; Khanh Phat store - Tan Linh commune, Ba Vi introducing OCOP products from milk, products of Ba Vi district...

At the same time, it creates favorable conditions for the consumption of local products, as well as other areas of Hanoi.
Distribution units commented that the expansion of OCOP product introduction and sales points opened in suburban areas is important in developing the Vietnamese goods distribution system throughout the city, helping people and workers in suburban areas recognize and choose reputable shopping locations, serving consumer needs with OCOP products from reputable manufacturers that have been evaluated and classified...

Along with opening many OCOP product introduction and sales points in suburban areas, the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade also regularly provides information on the list of over 4,000 OCOP products of Hanoi and 20 provinces and cities to enterprises, management units, and operators of OCOP points to proactively connect and consume products according to demand. At the same time, send a delegation of enterprises producing and trading OCOP products from localities to work directly at the management units and operators of OCOP product introduction and sales points. Through that, many products such as Tai Hoan vermicelli, fragrant green squash (Bac Kan province); Tan Nhien rice paper (Tay Ninh) ... have entered the BigGreen chain of stores; OCOP stalls at Big C supermarket, Duc Thanh supermarket ...
On the other hand, the management and operation units of OCOP Points have proactively contacted the subjects to connect OCOP products of the provinces and cities: An Giang, Nghe An, Lao Cai, Bac Kan, Dong Thap... after surveys and product connection introductions organized and implemented by the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade and the Departments of Industry and Trade of the provinces.
OCOP products are products produced from traditional craft villages. Over the years, Hanoi has recognized the traditional products of these craft villages, thereby creating opportunities for the products of these craft villages to develop, creating jobs for farmers and developing household economies.
However, the consumption of OCOP products still faces many difficulties, so it is necessary to open more points of introduction and sale of OCOP products. This is also one of the effective channels for promoting and consuming products, especially in areas with tourist attractions and scenic spots.
According to Ms. Tran Thi Phuong Lan - Acting Director of Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, the expansion of OCOP product introduction and sales points in Hanoi in general and suburban areas in particular also faces certain difficulties. Mobilizing units with business locations to develop into OCOP product introduction and sales points is difficult.
The reason is that the units are not ready to connect OCOP products, new products, prioritize convenient locations for display to people, while good locations are often chosen by brands and have preferential policies for stores. Therefore, it is very difficult to mobilize entities to prioritize OCOP products. In addition, the unit also has difficulty in mobilizing units participating in the development of OCOP product introduction and sales points to arrange funds to buy more shelves, display shelves; supplement and replace boards and signs according to regulations.
Continuing the task of developing OCOP product introduction and sales points in the coming time, Ms. Tran Thi Phuong Lan said that the Department of Industry and Trade will continue to preside over and coordinate with the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to review, mobilize and guide units with locations and stores to participate in developing into OCOP product introduction and sales points to contribute to enhancing the recognition of OCOP products, helping consumers recognize and prioritize their consumption choices.
At the same time, continue to bring the Hanoi distribution business delegation to participate in exchanges and sign memorandums of understanding on cooperation in exploiting and consuming products in provinces and cities to find new, quality OCOP products at suitable prices to bring to the Hanoi market to serve the capital's consumers during the end of the year and the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin 2024.
